I have a question for anyone paying attention. I used elmers carpenter glue and a brad nailer to hold it together while glue dries. Should I put some screws in too, or is the glue and glass in the seams enough? Thanks

shit bro aint nothing wrong with HX2's... very good subs. I used to run three HX2 12's. They were the older models than yours but they got down.
Had some type r 12s but someone got me. Everything I am running now I practicly stole off craigslist. got 3 subs mtx amp and 20' stinger 0awg cable and 150 amp stinger breaker for 225$ I thought that was good deal.

Started a box today nothing special. I wanted to make it bigger but, the moron at home depot messed up my cuts! Grrrrr
After getting home and realizing my boards are like 2 inches short I had to make a new design maximizing what I had.
Tomorrow I plan on adding some glass to the seams and cut out the circles. Here what I got so far.
I have 3 of these to put in it.
Like I said nothing special, don't rip too hard! will put up more tomorrow.

you are lucky you got off easy! They got my HU 3 amps my subs my gps my ipod they even got a $50 maceys card lol busted my window! I was not to happy. I have a decent alarm too, I choose to be nice to my neighbors that night and leave it off because of the heavy rain. what a dumb ass I was.

that would be a bass boost knob. some amps come with those and some come with a gain knob. if its a bass boost knob the definitely get the RCA knob.
Confusion!! lols Anyways, like I said I would feel safer with the rca knob! I would be like cutting the volume down from your deck.

no they work the same way, you cant turn it past the amp's gain setting. they both cut power.
I had an old rf power 1000.2bd I am pretty sure it was like turning the bass up on your HU, I think it even said +18 db on it. I am not a expert though. Not saying I am right or wrong. I havent had a bass knob in forever. I just use my HU sub controls.
regardless I would prefer rca bass knob if I had 2 choose.

I think the ones that connect to rcas! If you set your gain right with the turned up all the way, you will not exceed your set max gain! I think most of the bass knobs with the phone wire actually adjust bass boost. not so good = clipping!
Thats my opinion I am sure there many others with different opinions!

I am sorry to hear of this mess. If it means anything to anyone, I recently bought some power cable from OrionStang!
It was a tad on the slow side but arrived just as described, I would most def do biz with OrionStang again, with out thinking twice about it. Good luck getting everything taking care of.

I would use the porcelain from a spark plug, takes no effort and quietly webs up the window.
edit: Prob shouldn't have posted this info, anyways it works so well because, its a chemical reaction.

mine vibrated till it fell off metal tab, the screw is still all the way tight left a grove in tab. So, I mostly just use it when I am on the highway or if I have kids in the car, other than that I just take it down, and it rides shotty.lol If I don't take it off it will fall in just a few mins, lucky me it didn't pull the metal tab off, Thats what normally happens to me, brings a chunk of glass too.

I did a similar set up in a corvette like 2 weeks ago, the speakers were in the dash I used a 50' roll plus. Although, I ran wire from the deck to the back in case he ever wanted some rear sound. I don't think 8.5 will be enough unless the amp is in the front of the car. I don't think 10' would be enough either. Break down and buy a 50' roll. I am sure you will use it eventually.
