do you guys have to pay more for the front
-
just charge it until it reaches 12show do i get my alternator tested? with the battery charging deal/ do i charge one battery at a time or can i charge both the way it's in already in the car with 0guage wire connected to the other one? so, how long do i charge it for if it sits at 10.4? please let me know, i'll try to get my batteries up to what it was and if that doesn't work i'll do that alternator test. thanks again you guys i really appreciate all the help
you have to use a dmm though to check the volts.
i charged my kinetiks all the way and it stopped at 13.4 and wouldn't go any higher

i heard shipping out of USA was a pain
-
I set crossovers at 80. and i was runnin the hifonics amp at like 3/4 gain.
i think i did clip them
Also, Thanks for the explanation Boon!
-
Well, the amp is a factory amp from Chevrolet. No idea how to adjust it as it has no knobs or nothing. Don't really want to change it out because other things plug into it. I threw a spare set of Xovers on it. Seems okay, still can't get no bass to them.
haha what?
-
I bet your amp has some mad DC offset on the outputs. Leaky power BJTs.
whoa. i didnt get any of that
-
yea man i was just thinking the same thing....what amp are u using for your highs? just wondering
yeah basically my tweeters stopped working then one day the crossover started frying. but the tweeters just went out with no warning.
im usin a hifonics 2 chan
-
do they smell bruned? usually you can smell the coils if they are burned.
Nope no smell. now the crossovers burnt!
One of them started smoking and caught fire. i took the crossovers out and ran the speakers directly to the amp
-
when you push the cone in by hand do they make a scratching sound?
havent gotten a chance to get them out of the door.
but when i do, i am going to check them with a dmm.
actually i could probably do that with the speaker wire. hmm

I have the ID CTX65CS and I'm sending roughly 150W RMS to them. They were getting this fine for a while, and one day I got major interference through my speakers. They were pulsating bass like crazy but I took the key out quick so they would stop. I turned the gain down to about a 1/4 and can't go any higher. When I turn it up higher, they start crackling. I'm almost positive their blown?
Just wanna be sure

whats retail on one of those. i know they gotta be ridiculous. wasnt exactly leaning toward a brand new truck
either.
the MSRP for the SRT8 is 43K while the invoice is $39K
The Jeep Cherokee starts at $31K according to their site
damn thats expensive
-
I like my RE SEs. Rated at 600W RMS each though. So you'd only give them about half power.
But they are like SQL to me. I've read that the Type R's sound bad at higher volumes but are louder. I haven't tested them myself though.

ok basically im looking for a larger size suv to build my new super system in. i was leaning toward a tahoe but was just wondering if there was anything that would be better for the cause. as of right now im planning on 2-4 18s and about 3k on each 18. yes i know electrical blah blah blah. jw on a vehicle
Jeep Cherokees seem to be popular.
i like the Jeep SRT8. 4 18s would kill the speed, but it won't run too slow with all that weight
-
i would do a sheet of wood under the amp.
so box, wood, rubber spacers, then amp

Use stinger or kicker, stay away from KLMX (my reason is because memphis audio sent out a warning to their authorized dealers telling them to stay away from copper clad because a 8 gauge full copper wire can hold more amperage then a 1/0 gauge copper clad wire)
dang. learn something new everyday.
it's also oversized. pain to getting the 4 gauge wire into any amp. i shaved alot of it off, and it still doesnt fit. i didn't shave any of the Stinger wire off, and it fit perfectly and stays in too!
I got it off Darvex for like $1.39 a foot or so
-
96 accord. yea he drilled the hole because it use to be a solid piece
-
make sure the area is free of rust and paint where it screws in because its contact points are the two bolts that hold it in
edit- thats what happened to mine but im too lazy to take the 15 secs to fix it god im worthless
haha i'll check it out tmrw. i cant believe it'd be so simple.
i also can't figure out how the guy put the LED light by my clock. I can't remove it
-
My alarm has the little spring thing that activates the alarm if the hood is popped and the alarm is armed. I noticed it was loose,so I screwed it in tighter and now it doesn't activate when the hood is popped. i also reloosened it. no luck
all wires are still connected to it

Another Quick Vid (cam dont even catch 1/4 the flex)
how do you like those Power References man?
-
i like ported for rap music. ported isn't too bad with some rock either
-
I used KnuKonceptz for my Big 3. I have the KLMX (pain to bend and stuff)
I prefer Stinger or the higher quality Knu (Kolloseus Flex)
