  1. There is much better for the money. Kicker CVX's are good woofers, do yourself a favor and give them quality power coming from a quality amplifier. AQ 2200 at $389 would be a good option. Using a Power Acoustik would be like putting nice rims on a Ford Pinto :aggressive:

  2. First off, kill the caps. Secondly, I would take my audiopipe amp over power acoustic anyday. That 30001D amp does 3000watts, that power acoustic does somewhere in the 15-2000 range (There was a thread on that amp a long time ago here that someone tested it)

    The AP30001D does 3000watts bridged 2ohm or 1500w x2 @ 1ohm

    Power Acoustik + :bsflag:

  3. Problems arise when people run amps at impedances that they are not designed to handle. .05 ohms on a 1 ohm stable amp over time will destroy the amp, put more heat on the inside components, increase distortion and pull moe current from the battery. In either case, running an amp like that will cause a Kicker or Hifonics amp to crap out on you earlier.

  4. Definitely stick with the Kicker amp. Old or not, it is still an excellent amp. The KX 1200.1 is 1 ohm stable. The SX line was also 1 ohm stable but Kicker has since stopped making that line. Now they only make the ZX line which are all 2 ohms stable for their mono block amps.

  5. Use the number I believe.

Set it up as a credit card.

Talk to paypal directly and they'll get you squared away.

It shouldn't be a problem. Only if there wasn't enough money on the card. Also who's name is one the prepaid credit card?

  6. Good answer.

Also, with two subs, you have two separate voice coils to dissipate heat and two separate motors to create kinetic energy. Sometimes, two smaller motors can be more efficient than one monster slug because of thermal management and mechanical factors (i.e. a huge, stiff suspension to damp 1000s of watts).

To make things simple, you should look at your vehicle to determine what would be best for IT. That one monster will definitely outperform two lesser subs if you don't have the space for them, for example.

After hearing my 1 12 RF T2 I will never again doubt the power of one high quality subwoofer. My bass is super clear and sounds like King Kong is in the trunk. Literally now if I turn the volume knob up to about 8, it can be too much  I will probably never run 2 subs ever again after hearing my T2. The gain knob on my RF T1500-1Bd is a little under 3. The box is exactly at 2.25 cubic feet tuned to 42hz. It's smaller than the box for my 2 RF T1 10's.

  7. Can someone explain to me the physics behind one monster 12 in a SPL ported enclosure easily outdoing 2 10's? I recently got a good deal on a RF 12 inch T2 RMS 1000 watts. So I had a custom enclosure built for it which is a little over 2 cubic feet tuned to 40 hz. This s**t is banging really really hard. I also have 2 10 inch RF T1s (600 watts RMS each) in a enclosure built to specs. It bangs really really hard but not like the 1 T2. The T2 I would say is about 30% louder and harder where bass is concerned. How can 1 monster 12 outdo 2 excellent 10's?

  8. If you value your amps don't mount them on the box. The good amps have the mosfets bolted down. The cheap ones use clips and sometimes excessive vibration can cause the mosfets to break from the legs. The earlier Sundown Audio amps had these problems.

  9. I live in Phoenix, AZ so it gets much hotter then that here. I will play around with different arrangements to see if I can get them all under there. I might have to stack two of them though. Will they get too hot that way?

Probably not I just always remembered being told not to mount amps on a box because of the possibility of shaking the mosfets from the constant vibration.

  10. How cool do they run in small spaces? I've got three amps that would have to go under my box along with a battery or two so I would have to stack two of them to get it all under there. Otherwise they will have to be mounted to the box.

So far in 90 degree weather they never overheat and I have mine's mounted under the seat. If you can avoid mounting them on the box that would be good. Excellent amps.
