  1. I love how everyone calls the good brand nut hugger brands?

Nah dude go get some bazooka, JL, kicker, Polk, xplod, or clarions!!!! Don't be a nut hugger man! Get shittier equipment so you can be cool!

Chill bro no need to get butt hurt. I just meant that those brands aren't really widely known outside of forums like these. And you can't tell me that there isn't some serious bias towards certain brands here *cough DC*

And believe it or not, yes there is good mainstream equipment out there too. Not everybody has to be cool and get an underground brand nobody's heard of.

  2. A lot of choices. Dc lvl 5 , sundown NS, Fi Btl.....

    this

Just about everyone here will tell you to get the forum nuthugger brands(Fi/AA, DC, Sundown, AQ, Obsidian, etc.) You just have to research and choose what you think will fit your needs. Nobody here can tell you what sub work best for you. And at the same time you really can't go wrong with any of the brands mentioned.

  3. For $30-$50 per woofer, I honestly think xplodes are pretty damn good shrug.gif You aren't going to find much better gear until you start looking at the lower lines of Pioneer and Kicker.

Another vid for the haters that I just happened to see in another recent thread

But agreed, for $200 I'd just do a single sub setup unless you wanna run something like 2 10's. I'd rather have 1 good sub over 2 shitty subs. I'd do what others have recommended and get something like a Sundown SA-15 or a Fi SSD. Another good choice would be the AudioQue SCD2.5 series. They are running a sale now and you can get a 15'' for $150. Hell of a deal if you ask me.

  4. If you are wanting a serious radar detector that will actually work, I'd get at least either an Escort Passport 8500 X50 which will run you a little over $300, or a Valentine 1 which is about $400. One of my best friends used to run a Passport 9500ix which is one of their top of the line detectors(its a step above the 8500 X50) with GPS capabilities built in and it was really nice and was especially good against falsing in cities. The only thing he didn't like about it was the ramp-up wasn't that great once it detected a threat. So he sold it and got a V1 and has run that for over a year now. It falses more than the Escort but nothing beats it in raw detection. We've tested it and to this day it's the only windshield mounted detector that can actually provide slight protection against laser. But if you're really worried about laser.. a jammer is pretty much the only way to go.

EDIT: And please stay away from the shitty Cobra detectors that you see at places like Best Buy and Radioshack. No lie a lot of those will EMIT more radar than they detect.

  5. i dont really get what youre saying. the 1800 on your rockford amp probably means 1800w peak. my friend has an mtx amp that 600 rms 1800 peak. go off the rms rating when choosing an amp and if its not cea compliant then its probably overrated

Not true. It just means the company didn't pay to have the CEA certification. There are still many good amps that will do rated that aren't CEA certified. AQ and Crescendo are two brands off the top of my head.

  6. meh, its a really cool project car and I'm sure dude spent a lot of time and money on it, but for $89k I'd take a Nissan GTR any day of the week. I just couldn't bring myself to pay almost $90k for something that has the underpinnings of a 9 year old Mercury. Plus, I would be kind of embarrassed when people would want to go for a ride and it be slow as shit, or when you pop the hood and see a tired old 2.5L V6 lmao.

When I'm paying that much for a car, I want the performance to match the looks shrug.gif

  7. Man I've got a drinking and driving story for yall

Like 2 weeks ago, one of my dumbass friends got so wasted at a house party and decided to try and drive home. Long story short, he got completely lost and he ended up driving down a dirt road that was on a private ranch and he ended up taking out a 25 ft section of wooden fencing and crashed head on into a tree doing 40 mph. And to top that off one of the wooden slats from the fence went through the windshield and was about 2 feet from taking his head off.

The biggest BS of this story.. remember the part about all this happening on a private ranch? Well here in TN, you can't be charged with a DUI on private property... even if it isn't your property. All the cops could charge him with was trespassing, and the owners didn't even press charges. Oh, and this will probably mean nothing to most of you guys, but the owners happened to be part of Ingram family that started the Ingram cancer center at Vanderbilt.

But I was so pissed he got off like that. Sorry for the long story, I just figured this was an appropriate thread to vent.

OP sorry for your loss as well.

  8. The first time I tried 4Lokos I had the grape and watermelon flavors and I thought they tasted alright. With me at least, I would get a good buzz going from the alcohol, but then when I wanted to pass out for the night, all the damn sugar and caffeine would keep me awake all night and I would just feel like shit.

They are kind of a bitch drink too imo... nowadays the only people I really see drinking them are either chicks or highschoolers.

  9. the way the judge handled the situation was just a stupid as the dude who gave the finger imo

I mean 6 days in jail? for flipping a bird? really?

And I'm pretty sure NOBODY listened to the judge's bs 10 minute rant.. give me a break. There are more important issues at hand other than some jackass trying to be cute on tv.
