every car is different so your results may very... most of the time though for trunk cars you will get the best results with firing towards the rear and fold the seats down(if you can). I'd only fire them forward if you plan on sealing them off from the trunk. I tried firing my 15'' into the cabin and the low end response dropped significantly.

You can get by with 4 gauge at that level just fine. 4 gauge is good up to around 1600rms

this or crutchfield And just FYI the AQ clip lights really aren't super accurate and are known to show clipping even when it's sending clean power. It's really more of a dummy light than anything. But yeah get something with at least 4 volt pre outs so you don't have to turn the gain up so high. Some good brands I'd look into are Pioneer, JVC, and Kenwood. They all make solid units, even their cheaper ones.

I'd definitely part out the system and sell it separate. Customizations to a car (rims, system, etc.) usually don't add any value because most people probably don't have the same taste as you. Not to mention that having a system could scare off potential buyers because they don't want to risk buying a car with some half assed wiring job. Cars are best sold in stock form.

I'd personally wait another month and a half for the iPhone 5. But if you wanna go the android route the HTC Inspire and the Samsung Infuse look pretty nice too.

Just set the gain without using the knob for the time being. I'd contact AQ and see if they could resolve your issue. Having a knob is nice for when you are at a red light or you're driving through a residential area and you don't wanna be bumpin. I guess another way to do this would be adjusting the sub level on your deck.

It would be really nice for someone with a DD-1 to tune an AQ amp. Make a video and have the DD1 and the bass nob side by side just to put all the theories of how accurate the clip light is to rest.
