1.5^3 NET, so after sub/port/bracing displacements.
And yes you can multiply port area x4 if going to a 6cube net enclosure. I'd do 96^2 for 6 cubes and I'd tune to 38Hz unless you play a lot of Decaf's lower stuff.
My old wall with HDC's was tuned to 38Hz and played "trunk bang" at 29Hz no problem.
-
had a box like that with 2 18's and later added a triangle on the back wall at the end fo the port. ZERO gain on the TL, so we took it back out
-
amp is going into soft protect from low voltage, have your batt(s) load tested...

I went to the show and I got my first 150db demo today,(thank you rockford fosgate) and a 154db demo. Thanks Audiofanaticz. Epic winning. It was so damn hot though. Next time I want to take the Bu' through the lanes and see if I can do a 135db lol. Infinite Baffle FTL. lol I really want to build a wall now.
don't think we got to meet, I had the "Best of Show" purple mini van...

One more day. Anyone from here going besides Decaf
-
Should be a good turnout for this one and lots of cars that like to demo...

Crescendo 1000c4 for $195shipped is probably the best deal going right now...
-
Can someone link me to a website where I can buy a filter module with a cutoff around 7000hz? I can't find any..
you don't need one that high, cut the mids around 3500 and HP your tweets around 4000

Patrick has 4 DC 10's in a 4th order in his Lincoln and Manny has DC lvl5's in his Jeep Commander.
Bring your trunk rattles to the WGCI show, they love that shit there...

i was mia, but the boys of SBC should have something to shut them up for awhile after mlstrass's score
55.1 ain't skeering nobody
-
Solid turn out today, probably 50-75 cars with around 30 of them doing the sound comp. Cops sucked though, made us shut down the demo's or tickets would be issued.
Kranny was there, not sure if I gave him a demo and still didn't get to hear his car. I'm starting to think he has a couple of fleamarket subs and a pyle amp

1 more day and the weather looks to be very nice
-
Just the chance to meet Decaf is worth coming out to this show
-
Bunch of us are meeting up around 9-9:30 so we can roll in together, so if you plan to go early here's the meeting spot. It's like 5 minutes from the show.
Burger King
165 Dundee Ave Elgin, IL

I'll be there. Lookin forward to meeting some of you guys
be sure to introduce yourself. DOA guys will be parked in a group like the rest of the teams. Few of them go 30+ cars deep as there's some big clubs out that way...
-
Heard this year it will be TL on the dash, but you can have a door open/window down...

elgin city hall

June 5th starts at 9am
In the past they've done MECA fuse ratings for classes, but meter on the glass sealed up dbdrag style.
You can demo all day at this show with no hassles, come out and have some fun...
-
you use 1/2 the length of the radius when calculating the length of an aero
-
Can't see the vids at work, but I run PA speakers and they can sound very good actually if tuned properly.
-
you're going to run an 18 in 3.2cubes?????
15's in 3.25cubes suck, I don't care what others have said. I've tried them in all sizes of boxes and 4.25-4.5 is MUCH better.
2 12's in 4.5-5cubes net, 16^2 port area per cube with a slot port, tune 35-38Hz and you'll have a nice daily set up...
-
I would NOT run a silk dome tweet with PA mids. Get 2 Crescendo XST's assuming you have some place to mount them. Will do a MUCH better job of keeping up with the seleniums...
you can use FMOD's to create your bandpass xover for the mids. PE and other sites sell them. 6w4p's need a HPF around 125Hz, so your amp should be able to do that, then an FMOD to LP them around 4Khz
-
Ideally 2 mids per super tweeter is what you'd want. I have a LOT of seleniums and crescendo XST super tweeters in my vehicle. They can sound very good if set up properly...
-
Didn't want to drive in the rain so I went north to Sheboygan for a dbDrag show.
I'll be there the 22nd though ready to demo the new set up...

HDC's prefer 16^2 per cube, built a LOT of boxes for HDC's the last 3 years and do 16-20^2 per cube.
Current daily set up is 2 12" SDC's with 20^2 per cube tuned to 42Hz. Sounds very good on old school hip hop and 80's metal...
