O ok so 1 is more and 3 is less, ok. Im using the eq on my alpine cda-9813 HU.

1st thanks for the quick reply!!! Ok so say im adjusting the low band of my eq, I set the freq at 50k and the gain at 2. the center freq is 50k right??? If thats the case if I set the band width to say 3 it will effect the freq around 50k?? Now if I set the band width to say 1, which freq are effected now? Also how are the freq's effected, does it add the dialed in gain to the freq's effected?? Sorry for all the questions, I appreciate the help!!

I've search the web for 3 days and I still cant really understand what the "band width" setting actually does on my eq. I read it has something to do with "q" factor but in all reality after reading almost 5 articles multiple times, unfortunately I cant say that I understand it any better. Basically can anybody simply tell me how this adjustment will effect the sound of my music? Im currently in the process of tuning my new system and I have no idea where I should even begin with the width adjustment. On my EQ, each freq band has a width setting that can be adjusted 1-3. Thanks in advance!!!!
