Get an excursion video and post it in the excursion thread
-
gonna sound like crap with the bass boost maxed out.
-
No need to take them apart to clean a heatsink, just blow it out with compressed air. If you use a large air compressor (not a can) just be a bit careful about it because 100+ PSI is a bit dangerous at point blank range to some components.
-
blow out the heatsink of the laptop... also make sure the fan is actually still spinning. Small fans have a tendency to die.
-
If it shuts off and doesnt restart by itself (as in you dont have to press the power button to turn it back on) then could be heat or power related. Software error usually restarts the system.
-
looks more like a slot ported box than a t-line.
-
Couple new vids taken with new cell phone (LG Dare).. supports a high speed video mode! Lose audio but gain double the capture FPS for some killer shots Not as good of quality as the SX100IS camera gets though
Excursion (skip to 3:00 and on):
Cab movement:
Windshield flex:

Got something you guys might enjoy
Skip to 3:00 and make sure you've got a spare change of underwear handy lol

Also, make sure all your motherboard grounding screws are tight. Or else you will have fuzzy speakers
They are all connected to a common ground plane. Fuzzy speakers would probably indicate an issue somewhere that over tightening the screws just covered up.

Seriously dude calm down. The OP never said anything about stream computing.. He just wants a basic computer to do some minor video editing once in a while.
Good to see someone was able to read what I wrote without needing corrective lenses ; )
On a side note, there are nV OpenCL 1.1 drivers out now if you know the places to look.

BIG UPDATE!!!
I AM ON THE HOMEPAGE OF CAR AUDIO AND ELCTRONICS MAGAZINE!!!!!!!
CAR ADUIO & ELECTRONICS MAGAZINE
Been really busy with phone calls, emails and pm's
I am hoping something good could come of this!!!
I guess they've never seen a custom jobber before?

Everything is about OpenCL what are you talking about? NV's SDK and driver for OCL run under the CUDA architecture they don't compete. OCL isn't like OGL my man, it's more than just graphics, it allows devs to pool a systems resources as a whole. It was created to run on everything and on any architecture...
Go to post 15 and tell me which of the items listed by the Op is about OpenCL/CUDA?
-
The integrated GPU on the motherboard will be fine for what you intend to do. Dont expect miracles though
Everything looks fine really.
-
Could get another 5770 and crossfire it with your first one. Crossfire between a 5850 and 5770 wouldnt work too well.
-
When I mentioned AMD being broke I was talking about how they don't have the money to invest in OpenCL which is why NV is smoking them in that department (which is for things unrelated to graphics which is what this guys computer is all about).
Nothing of what he listed above is about OpenCL or CUDA. As to "investing" in OpenCL, its 95% about development, not investment, and the development is happening on more than just AMD/ATi's end.

RE "XMX" http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/Resonant%20Engineering/xmx6.1.wmv
Early RE XXX sample.. cant find the original video on youtube anymore for some reason so here's the next best thing, a video of a noob recording the video off a TV to put on his own youtube page.... wtf.

Adire Parthenon motor: http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/Adire/parthenon.1.wmv
If the realm of excursion links dont work you'll have to go dig through the video archives to watch them..

I just score good deals and build from there
Got the second 2.4 6-core in the mail.. and the SR-2 is on my bench right now Gonna get new ram for it and new heatsinks.
-
helmholtz resonance is vibration of air. A port is a helmholtz resonator
Blow across the top of a wine glass.. helmholtz resonator!
edit - I dont like how "; )" gives
-
what direction are the subs facing in your car? I had a single 12 on less than 500w in a sealed "truck" box facing up towards the rear glass hatch (about the same angle) on top of the rear diff. It hammered really hard.

# RMS Power 4 ohms: 1700 watts x 1 chan.
# RMS Power 2 ohms: 2500 watts x 1 chan.
# RMS Power 1 ohm: 3200 watts x 1 chan.
Probably rated at 14.4v, so anything under that is gonna be a bit less even.
-
could have given it to a movie theater so they wouldnt have a piss-poor bottom end
-
air movement has latency to the movement of the driver diaphram, thats why the cancellation doesnt "seem" to be there. It is there, just not perceptible.
-
should be ok..... but might want to get a pair of 200's in case they blow.
-
Bouncing my wiper blades a bit.. wasnt cranked.
A sine sweep.. and we notice an issue:
Excursion, and better view of the issue:
Couldnt get a good shot of the steering wheel or doors flexing.. or box bouncing, guess my camera just doesnt like picking it up, oh well.
