  1. Hello my friends ! :)

I am currently working on a wide body jeep Wk build process by myself in my own garage, and when the body build is done, i am planning to install a 6000 Rms system into it, ( firing up, ported to the back )

    Parts on hand :

    - Pioneer AVH p-3150 DVD head unit ( touch screen , double din )

    - Pioneer 6 woofers ( Tsw-3004 SPL ) 1,000 watts RMS each

    - Pioneer 3 Amps (PRS-D2000SPL ) 2000 Rms each , monstrous amps.

I have a humble experience as to the wiring procedure , I am planning to have 3 seperate alternators for the system , each alternator feeding a One Yellow top optima, which in turn feeds the 2000 Rms amp, feading 2 subs... Is that the way to go ?

what should the alternators output be to feed a 2000 Rms amp? is 1 optima per amp enouph? :( , is my setup on the right track ?

i kindly appreciate some help for my build from all of you SPl Wizards :)

    Thank you :)

you may want to use a better battery instead of the Optima, like the Deka/ batteries if your wantin it cheap as possible, i was thinking more of 2/3 batteries per amp other wise seems like on right track

  2. how did steve re fasten his door panels back to the doors. with the stock piece of crap clips or some other way??? 1 more question, running all 4 guage instead of the stock 8 guage for the big 3 does the cable from the alternator to the batt have to be fused?? if so what size fuse?

this is steve meade's build thread, no offense or anything but your electrical ? should go in the electrical forum place

  3. So i told him what a guy said at the shop about him NEEDING a h/o alt. Heres the set up

    1 fi btl 15"

    1 saz 2k

    1 hc 2400

    1 optima yellow top

    STOCK ALT

I think that he will be fine with that little battery bank, he trusts this forum so I told him I would post this up. Thanks

Again I know a h/o alt cant hurt, but thats not the ? here, does he NEED a h/o alt in order to have this system.

EDIT: Car is a 98 maxima :D thanks

    depends on the car? 4 cylinder/ v6/ v8

  4. Alright, so I'm rolling in a 2003 Chevrolet Xtreme Blazer. I'm finishing up my system. Four RE Audio SE-XXX 15s, two US Amps MD3D amps, second Optima red top battery, etc. I was going to get my alternator beefed up to around 150 amps, but I was told by a place around here that works on them that my stock alternator can't be beefed up anymore.

So, here I am. I have a batter isolator and a switch to turn it on/off to have the alternator charge the second battery when I need it. Do you think my alternator can handle this system or will I need to shell out the money for another, higher output alternator? I know which would be the better option, but that's not what I'm asking. I want to know if my alternator can handle it sufficiently.

a 220-270 amp alternator should do you good
