  1. HPI Savage X 4.6 ftw! that has been my most reliable truck to date, bought it new and have only had to replace very minor stuff. upgrade to robinson racing hardened steel spur gear and clutch bell, get a hitec 7955 tg steering servo and a good 2.4ghz radio, and some better tires and wheels(i run proline dishes and proline bowtie tires on mine). oh and get a extra body, you'll need it, the stock one shreds pretty quick. and DO NOT run traxxas fuel, it sucks, makes the truck hard to tune. i've had awesome luck with byron's fuel(25%). i've had over 40 rc cars and trucks in the last 2 years, i've tried a little bit of everything, and savages are the best.

    X2

i had the savage x 4.1 and it had more power then you will ever need and was super fast with the 2 speed transmition. BUT i would stay away from the steel clutch and spur gears since those are made to be the weak between the engine and the trans. and they last long and work good as long as you set the mesh properly. my brother had mine wide open and hit a cement light pole and drove it away!

  2. seems pretty good to me. my buddy had a miss fire on his blazer and it turned out to just be dirty injectors.

but i agree with the GM's not likign the fancy spark plugs.. we put in nice patlynum plugs with our new engine and it had a miss fire and we talked to some one and he said oh just run the AC delco plugs.. so we switched and it run much better!

this is why i like carbed engines!! no injectors ro have to worry about.. you get spark and fuel and compression and shell fire up! no computer systems you have to rely on to run the engine

  3. could have have possibly pinched or cracked a line ?

i know me and my bro went threw a shit tone of work on our clutch.. got good at pullin the tranny! from the car beign driveable to up on the house with the trans on the ground in under an hour!first tiem we got the wrong clutch.. thoguth since its a preformance one the salve wasent troung enough.. get a new salve get it bled and put together same issue... come to realize we have the wrong clutch.. so get the new cluthc in works MUCh better but still sient right.. so we thing either air in the system or a bas master.. ohh and its a 1994 chevy cavalier.. and chevy wasent bright when they se it up since there are no bleeder screws anywhere on this!

  4. usually getting an after martket header/headers is cheaper and more reasonable then going back to the factory manifolds..

and yrou engine mounts.. iif they were broke you would know almost instant ly, you can usually tell by looking.. have a buddy get in the car and set the e-brake and put it in gear and either let off the gas or slowly let out the clutch and watch your enigne

  5. well im not sure where yoru at. but if you have cold winters.. find a heated shop and tear out your engine. just remember where all the wires go. if you cant do that mark them so you will remember.. then tear down the engine.. then you will find out yourself if it is worth fixing or if its not.

me and my bro tackeld a cluthc in our car only goin by what we have read.. and it was pretty simple but ran into a few issues ( parts store gave sus the wrong clutch ) and we fucked with it for a week... got gettin that tranny out and cluthc apart down to a science.. from sitting in the car to driving it to having it in the air and trans. off and clutch off to about 45 min! haha
