  1. My buddy let me borrow his Beats for a day and I must say they were amazing. But $300 will always be a lot to ask for a pair of headphones.

The Sennheiser HD555 are an amazing set...usually go for around $150.

If you're looking for amazing sound quality I would not look for something wireless, just a heads up.

i wasnt looking for wirless, its just what they had.

i listened to all the wireless ones the dude had, and they were ok, but no bass.

    have you tried the HD555's?

EDIT: just looked on senn's website, they say they are an open aire design. i will be mobile, so i need a closed design.

if u want good headphones go with senheisser, beyerdynamic, grado, audiotechnica, sony (DJ or Studio), AKG

tried grado, didnt like them. they were open design. and i am staying far away from sony.

sounds like your just listing names. i would really like first hand expirences.

  2. im in the market for a good pair of over-ear headphones. ive been to a few home audio shops and listened to a few. the real problem is that the shops dont have a lot of inventory to try out. so now im on here asking for some advice.

ive got a budget of $200 to 250, main thing im looking for is bass response and of course accurate mids and highs. if i had to say what my listening preferences were i would say: aggressive with rich bass.

ive looked at the monster beats by dr. dre for $300 at BB ($250 at abesofmaine.com), they seem to be in the lead. ive listened to some senn's wireless, not impressed. some grado 125's, thats when i learned i wanted a close air design. i did listen to some denons that were pretty good, but i was not really impressed with the design and the bass was lacking but did have one of the best next to the monsters. a couple models of bose, friend has a pair i like, but i cannot get the same model lol.

i dont want to be a hater but i would like to stay far away from bose and sony.

also looking for a closed ear design as i will be mobile some of the time. i will be listening off my ipod mostly.

    thanks for any input.

  3. close, its an envoy.

the hertz comps sounds amazing. they take the 300+ (jacob says its more like 400) wrms like a champ. though the mids are a tad lacking with a flat responce, a little tweaking from the eq it sounds really good.

may03lt listened to it, he was amazed it was only one set of speakers. i think he was a little pissed they sounded so good :D

  4. ok so here is what i have up-to-date.

  5. CRX style will have plenty of musical ability, idk why you'd think otherwise... But i'd suggest something like 4ft3 @ 34hz w/ 60in^2 of port, subs up and port facing towards the rear. Btw a loud daily enclosure usually doesn't go hand in hand with tuned very low(like 28-32hz). For an overall daily enclosure which will cover the whole range of notes I'd suggest tuning from 33-37hz.

ehhhhh... i dont know, i like hitting them low notes. going off the factory specs are at 28. anything bad happen if its tuned that low?

i dont really want to get louder, not that its a bad thing, i just never go full tilt while listening, unless there are some hot chicks :D or showing off to fellow audiophiles.

  6. its going into an envoy, i hear from a lot of other owners that it is louder to have it subs up with port firing off the hatch.

i am using a mmats d2100.1, so about 1500 at 1 ohm. i pulled a 141.1 at the dash, but at the time the power supply was going out and i was only seeing 1050. i got the power supply fixed, then i was seeing 1450, since then ive done a 1/0 form #4 wire, and done a big 3 in #4, so im not exactly sure what im pulling, though music is dynamic ....

if anyone thinks that a crx style box isnt going to have enough "musicability" what other design should i try, that dosent involve loosing my rear window.

lol, no blurping. im going for daily loud, tuned really low.

thanks for all the interest guys.

  7. hello all, not sure if this is the right place, but here goes

i wanna change it up a bit. i have 2x Treo SSi 12.44 in a 3.6 cf box @ 28 hertz. I wanna do a crx style box (with subs up and port forward).

    sub here:

    http://treoonline.com/infosheets/ssi_subwoofers.pdf

    going into an '02 Envoy

    box:

    44" wide x 23" long (about) x 16" tall

    double baffle, with flush mount

i dont want to go taller. and i dont know if i wanna go into aero port territory.

MAY03LT said i should check out SMD.
