  1. Get 3/4" MDF to make the box out of, then just double baffle the face of the box where the subs will be mounted to. For internal bracing just use standard dowels, going top to bottom and another side to side. Put them in the place most prone to flex on the box, spot furthest away from the edges(middle of the walls).

As far as building boxes locally, you can make a decent amount of extra $$ on the side but doing so requires a lot of word of mouth to get your name out there. Plus having good quality building skills and showing previous work you've done to potential customers. After you get started just make sure to balance your time and don't get overloaded with work, happens to a ton of people.

When i used to build locally(when i lived in NY), i got all my work from people who have seen my prior work and i advertised on CL with multiple pictures.

  2. whats that amp rated at? 1ohm or 2ohm. if its 1ohm then itll work perfectly for him at 2ohms.

i would look at the audioque 3000 if your looking for a lower price. sundown 3000 if you want a better amp. if you want to run at .5ohm you could get the sundown 2000 but i dont recommend that to noobs(no offence)

    AP3000D is rated at 2ohms.

Steve Meade has people thinking crazy. lol

    Huh??

  3. I mentioned the Audiopipe in my 1st post... I wouldn't run the entire 3k to those 4 subs, i highly doubt the CVRs would like 750w each daily. I mean after sum impedance rise you might be able to get away with it though.

  4. so i can run them on a 1000w kenwood with a 2ohm capability? if a wired it right until i got a upgrade

Yea you could, idk how much output you'll have with less than 250w per woofer. What amp exactly do u have?? I wouldn't suggest you buy a Kenwood amp if u don't already have one.

  5. yeah I have to get them shipped here from the states. That's why they are so expensive for me. But I was thinking about getting a xs power d3100. Its pretty damn expensive but I may just need one in the back and a smaller bat up front. Shipping sucks. I would buy so much stuff if I lived in the states.

It's not that much cheaper by any means, you guys just get killed with shipping fees... Kinetik doesn't have any dealers anywhere in Canada?? Also look into Northstar batteries specifically all the NSB models, alot of people run them and would be my choice if i didn't have my loyalty to Kinetik.

    Here's a Northstar link for ya - http://www.northstarbattery.com/telecom_top.php

  6. you mean the battery power? for 2k and i can wire these 4 to a 2 ohm load capability?

Yea things like an HO alt, big 3, extra batts, etc.... Don't quote me exactly(a lil drunk and tired right now) but I'm 99% sure they can be wired to 8,4,2,.5ohm final loads.

For 2k I'd suggest u at least have big 3, a nice underhood batt(ex. kinetik 1400 or so), and a big batt out back(Kinetik 2400, XS 3100, NSB90, etc). H/O alt isn't a necessity, but it would put alot of ease on the system as a whole.

  7. Best way to wire it would be @ 2ohms on something like a Kicker ZX2500.1. Will send 625w or so per woofer, but the amp is a lil bit pricey. Or always could snag an Audiopipe 3000D and just adjust the gains accordingly to not overpower the subs with the full 3k.

I believe it can be wired @ .5ohm also, if u just parallel the entire series of wiring(correct me if wrong i'm getting a lil bit too tired right now). Something like a Sundwon SAZ1500D or IA20.1 @ .5ohm would be perfect in that case.

Do u have the extra electrical to back up at least 2k daily??

  8. I would go 250 unless you are drawing more and need the extra, but I've seen 300 used without issues.

You got it right here, this is exactly how i do it... Generally like 2500w or less I'll run 250, always judged it off my old Orion 2500D. @ 1ohm it pulled 188amps, so even 250 will give it sum space for a more inefficient amp or the same power or less.

Btw i ate me a nice ham sammich for lunch today and it was damn tasty, virginia ham to be exact.

  9. thanks!! How many car audio mags are even out anymore......is there any?

I think PAS is the only mag that still is geared more towards CA... They always have sum sick ass ride w/ a hot chick on the cover, pretty sure it's a canadian made magazine.

Back in like '04 they used to do features on like world finals and SBN, but haven't really seen any SPLish vehicles in their mag in a long time. Like the majority of what the older CA mags did it was all high $$ fiberglass work on a show car that really get featured.

You could submit the Hoe to Deephitter's Mag hahaha.

  10. Maybe its not such a crazy idea. On the other hand vegetables in a vending machine sounds a bit crazy but seeing as everyone is trying to be more health conscious now it may just work. Maybe the energy drink should also be good for those that are very health aware and like to watch what they consume.

Oh yea I'm sure health conscious folks want a drink riddled with sugar and caffeine.... Like i said how many successful energy drink companies are out there.

  11. Thanks Tron for the good input. Yes it does seem a lot of us love energy drinks. Something that will not only help us through an installation but through a show after a long night of finishing an installation. I dont know if the product would go very far but it was an idea. A can of SPL in the morning is a great start to your day (the best part of waking up are those db's in your cup).

I'll stick with Red Bull... Do u have any idea what the start up cost would be for something of that nature?? There are already wayy to many energy drink companies out there and how many do u truly know are successful.
