  1. I've made a few enclosures, not to mention I know many others who have done proper enclosures.

    I probably won't start this build for a few months, so I've got time to do a lot of research and planning. I've got work and college to worry about (plus, I don't make that much. ;P).

    If I end up powering it with one amp, the wall will be a single chamber. I won't know until I know exactly what I have to work with. The back seat is still in (and will be in for a while), so I have no full idea on the space I'm given (no idea what it looks like behind that seat).

    That was gonna be my next question, if u had enough space back there for 4 15" L7s walled off... You're looking @ at least 4ft3 per sub and after port/sub/wood displacement, you're gonna need a big space to do it all properly. Personally i were you, I'd just do a blowthrough.

    And I actually meant dual chamber. No idea what the hell I was thinking quad for.

    Any suggestions on a 4kw amp, though?

    Still don't know why you wanna do a dual chamber, just gonna make more work for yourself and won't see any real gains from it... Just do a classic wall build, subs on one side and port on the opposite. Have u ever done any kind of enclosure build before??

    My suggestion is what i run - American Bass VFL 400.1... It does rated power plus, isn't really power hungry, and can be run at basically any impedance without issues(I've burped it @ .25ohm without any issues and daily @ .5 ohm also). Other suggestions would be Sundown SAZ-3500D/4500D, IA 40.1, or RF T40001bd. All of which will do rated power plus some more and are super reliable(SAZ-4500D not released yet, but if it's anything like the other Sundown amps it's top notch).

    I have a '99 F150 XL Ext Cab and I'd like to wall off the back. I already know how I want it done.. it's just to do it, hah.

    A quad chamber wall with the subs arranged like below.. have an amp controlling the top and an amp controllin the bottom and a switch for each row. haha.

    Why would u do a wall w/ 4 seperate chambers?? and why run 2 amps?? When u could find a nice 4kw amp that will be more efficient and prolli cheaper than 2 2k amps. With a single 4kw u wouldn't have to worry about having the exact gains on both amps to match up.

    Also, have u ever done a build of this nature before??

  4. i never played them both at the same time... it was first 1 12 in one box. and by the time i got the second one i ripped the tinsil leads.... and i already had the box done..

    Oh i see... Well I'd suggest comparing prices from what DC charges to recone your sub(remember you're gonna have to pay to ship 2 heavy woofers also) and what Dave will charge you to do so. Or if u have anyone local to you who does know how to recone subs, you could toss them a couple bucks and just order recones from DC(much cheaper and only have to wait for shipping of the recones). If you're planning on running 1500w or less per sub then just get the normal LVL4 recones in whatever coil config you want.

    Dave has been a member on different forums for years and does custom recones/subs... His quality is top notch, great CS, and good prices also.     Also i know the single sub is wired to 1 ohm, but when u had both of them in what were they wired to?

  6. well the yare both dual 2ohm

    they are both in the box but only one is doin all the work...

    so just send them in and get them reconed ?? correct?

    What do u have them wired to right now?? .5ohm or 2ohms

    If u want them reconed to a different coil config, then contact Rusty and see if you guys can set up when he can do them... Or contact Dave(Team PSI) and he should be able to help u out also.

  7. since you guys have seen his trunk and mines basically the same (i have a crown vic) what would you think would be louder? porting through the rear deck or just cutting a big hole in the rear deck. the rear deck has a hole about the 8" in the center of it so a 6" aeroport could go there but some elbows would be needed to get to the box since the gas tank is right behind the rear seats on these cars (I hope the OP didn't screw the amps down on that "hump" back there) I have used some Dayton Audio port elbows and aeroports before in a ported fiberglass box before but my Avalanche kept breaking the elbows so i don't want to use those again. maybe some regular pvc water pipe elbows but i don't know if they would disrupt flow/fuck with tuning.

  8. okae well what are some options that he offers when he does the recones?

    I have no idea, I'm guessing for a fee he could add sum extra spiders, different coil, different dust cap, etc... I don't see much else that he could do.

    If i were you I'd just get a regular recone for them since you're planning on getting them D1s... What coils are they currently and what ohm are they wire to??

  9. yeah i have 2 level 4 12s dual 2 ohm...

    but only one is workin due too ripped tinsel leads....

    the one that is workin is hookd up to merlin md3d

    if i get a recone what other options would u suggest i get..including the lv5 coils?

    If you're only planning on running 1k to each sub then i wouldn't even suggest LVL5 coils. LVL4s should be able to handle like 2k daily at least without any issues with regular lvl4 coils.

  10. Well now that i think of it. I think it might be better if i just get a recone for both to get them dual 1ohm, and get them with stronger parts.. and use the rest of the money on electrical and fits:D

    What would i ask rusty?

    Regarding what though?? Strictly a recone to keep a 12 or have it rebuilt as a different size woofer?? If and when u do get the recone regardless of size, I'd ask for a LVL5 coil.

    What amp are u gonna have powering the subs??

    Well obviously u can't just get a direct drop in for it, you'd have to get a replacement basket and the recone. As long as the mounting holes for the different baskets line up you won't have any issues. I'm 99.9% positive all the motors for the different size subs are the same, as are the coil size.

  12. Good luck to you man and just remember there are PLENTY more ladies out there... I learned along time ago that if they don't wanna be with you anymore, then it's not worth fighting for. I used to always pay for everything with girls because I've always made plenty of money and sorta felt obligated being the guy in the relationship. But regardless of what I make now(much more than i used to) I let me girl take me out to dinner once in awhile and let her help me out too. Basically this is the first girl I've done this with and I've never been so happy in my life.

    But as far as your girl problems bro, it's not worth having those thoughts over some bitch that doesn't wanna be with you.. Plain and simple.
