  1. Not much u can do besides have a high quality alarm... It's one of those things like if you're willing to put expensive items in your vehicle, then you know you're taking the risk. I'd talk to your insurance company and get it insured in case your vehicle does get broken into. Hell on my Expo I have 5% front windows + 8" windshield strip and double 5% on the rest of the windows, full alarm w/ multiple options, and I have it all insured for $2k more than it's all worth.

  2. Shrukien(sp?) makes some solid batts but I've heard they can't be run under hood due to the heat.. I'm pretty sure it's because of the extremely thin side walls compared to other similar batts. Performance wise though I've only heard good things bout them, especially for the price I've seen them go for.

Also your buddy is an idiot if he thinks you'll be fine running an AQ 2200D of a Walmart batt and stock electrical other wise.

  3. Are you running a single 18?? The coppers can handle the 2200D but the alum coils just add a little more power handling. Off 2200w I'd personally suggest running the HDC3 over the 4xl, off that general power range the HDC3s did more out of that power in my testing than the 4xls did. Over the both of them though I'd suggest looking into American Bass HDs.

  4. How much power are u running?? What coil HDC3(copper or aluminum)?? I'd guess head to head a 4xl + HDC3 alum will be pretty close to each other, numbers wise if each were in proper enclosures. From my testing the 4xl had more power handling than the previous model HDC3 alum and was a few tenths louder than it also.

  5. Hobby^^ pretty much hit everything on the head there... Depending on the power u plan on running, the enclosure will be different to maximize the potential of whatever amp you'll be using. If u wanted to keep it all one company then a Memphis 2500.1 would work perfectly for that woofer. As far as wiring just imagine using a pair of D1 woofers and it will make it easier to visualize.

  6. How much power are u gonna be running?? What size enclosure will they be in?? Both are among the questions that need to be answered before we can give u an accurate opinion. The install itself will play the biggest role in how either one will sound or perform. Really can't go wrong with either one though. Also I'd look into a DD 9518g if you're looking into that general power handling/price range, because I'd take one over either of the others u suggested.

  7. Those might be rough trunk measurements but you also have to account for where you're gonna put the amp(s) and batteries. Also need to make sure you have enough space in the trunk to have proper airflow back into the car, so the enclosure isn't choked off from the rest of the car. By just listing the measurements it's pretty pointless unless u expect someone to design some boxes for you or whatever you were thinking.

  8. If you're planning on running 4k+ watts I hope you have a pretty solid electrical setup in mind also.. HO alt + 2 or more big batts in back. Also I highly doubt you will have proper airspace in trunk for a pair of 15s or the quad 12s like the ones you suggested. My suggestion would be just to run a nice single 15 or a pair of 12s, unless you're willing to lose your backseat.
