  1. I am doing this because my cousin was going to buy one and he makes like nothing so he is on a super short budget

There are other companies out there that are better quality and cost the same or less than SS amps do... What size amp is he looking for and what is his budget??

  2. Get a tonneau cover for the bed and do a blowthrough so all you single cab guys can stop bitching lol... As far as flaring PVC the way I do it is with a metal bowl + a heat gun. It's a little much for me to type it all up right now @ 1:25am and answer questions regarding how to flare ports correctly without warping/cracking them. Drop me a PM sometime tomorrow and I'll try to help you out if you're really planning on doing it.

  3. Depending on how much room you actually have(you didn't list the actual depth) I'd go with something like 7ft3 @ 35hz w/ 90-100in^2 of port area.. Sub facing up, ports facing the rear and you should be good to go. Just make sure that the woofer has proper room to reach full excursion without the chance of it hitting the top of the trunk area. Also have enough room to make sure the box isn't choking the trunk off from the rest of the car.

  4. Invert the woofer maybe depending on what direction the woofer is firing and you should pick up like .12-.2ft3 and maybe look into a couple 3" aeros instead... Also you could just pick up some straight 4" PVC from like Home Depot and make a smaller flare yourself that would fit better. It's not that difficult to flare PVC yourself as long as you're careful and take your time, plus if you fuck it up it's not that expensive lol.

  5. In that vehicle with the woofer/amp you mentioned I could see you getting into the high 130s. That number is an estimate for TL @ dash and all sealed up. Could be more or less depending on the enclosure you build and the rest of the install. What previous setup did u have(the 2 12s you mentioned that did 140s) that you can compare to?? Also why ask for our opinions on what numbers you possibly could hit, when you just criticize the first person to throw out a number.

  6. for a alt contact dc power, they make the best alts at the best prices, a 300 amp should be good for those with more batteries

I have to agree with this that DC really does have the best priced alts on the market, if I wasn't so loyal to Ohio Gen I'd run them.. I'd love to do a direct drop in with a couple of their alts to see how they compare.

A 300amp alt should be just fine with like 3-4 batts and a couple power/ground runs. I really don't know if you'll have the space to fit a proper size enclosure, 2 large amps, and 3-4 big batts in strictly the cargo area if that was your intentions.

  7. I personally would unhook everything until you get an HO alt and some more battery power. Running like 5k daily on a stock alt + 2 2400s is horrible, especially those amps being that they are pretty power hungry. Hell I wouldn't run a single one of those amps with your current electrical daily. Also as mentioned before Kinetik 2400s aren't as good of batts as XS 3100s are, plus Steve is running 4 HO alts vs your stock alt. If anything just run a single amps for now and be very careful with keeping an eye on your voltage.

Put both of the woofers on a DMM first to see if there are any issues there, check the gains on the amps, check all wiring components, and hope that one of the woofers isn't messed up in some way. I know you said that the woofers are warrantied but you are running more than rated power on them, so you may run into some issues there if anything is wrong.

  8. ive already received pricing on it and all info needed on it from jacob, going to be released this month so it shouldnt matter

It doesn't matter what you've received about the woofer so far. You presented a poll comparing multiple setups to a forum filled with people, none of whom have actually tested one of the woofers because it hasn't been released yet.

  9. like marlo said the aq3500 is a amazing amp at a killer price!!! if that is yet still too high look at the ap 3000's, they are cheap and have been tested to do the power, but when it comes down to it aq>ap

I was gonna mention the AP 3ks also but then I re-read the first post. The OP mentioned that 2 amps were gonna be wired to 1ohm or a single amp @ .5ohm, so it looks like he's running 2 D2 woofers. I wouldn't suggest running an AP 3k @ 1ohm daily by any means, so I didn't bother suggesting them.

  10. If you're gonna be running a normal 12v setup then I'd count out the XXX6500D... @ 1ohm on a 12v system you won't be seeing anything near 6k, only on 16v/18v will you see anything near the ratings.

The best deal on the market today IMO is an AQ 3500D for $550 shipped.. Will do every bit of the 3500w @ 1ohm rating, great build quality, and great CS. For the price it really can't be beat.
