Sent my order over on CACO. I am happy with 5% but 15% would be awsome!

looks great those subs are unique too
Thanks, and thats what I wanted... Something different...

It was built in about 3hrs after work Friday. Its not high enough grade birch IMHO to be worthy of staining. Its going out for vinyl this week.very nice build for "last night"sexy as is, or coated with a varnish or something

i found out the flared ports are supposed to be 4" from the walls of the box. not sure what this will effect anything but if you get really high imp. rise then thats my problem too.
The ports are supposed to be AT LEAST port width from the behind it.

please read the rules

build looks pretty sick man! where in NY are you?
The finger lakes, about 4hrs from Monroe.

Did some test fitting this morning before it goes out for vinyl this week.

Hell yeah I fuckin love it. Working on it more today? What sort of power are you looking to throw at that box and what subs?
Might do a little today, but I have to help a buddy with his truck. Going to run a SAZ-4500D daily untill I get the funds for a 2nd one. The subs are 10" Lightning Audio Storm X2.H10.V4 Neo's. For those who don't know them, they are TC Sounds 3k based. They were built by TC Sounds for Rockford Fosgate few years back.

Good deal, from the pics they looked alot closer. The box looks great. I can hardly wait to see it covered and vids.
Yea, from the pictures they do look alot closer but there is actually 7" to the rear wall.

Sweet Wood working skills and I don't think I have ever seen 6" areo ports... Holy Crap!!!!
Where you putting your amps, Batt(s) and such???
There will be an amp/battery rack behing the seat and between the box. The SAX-100.4 and SAX-50.4 will have there own amp rack on each side of the box (not mounted to the box though).

vinal would be good too. and ur right, after i looked closer at box, there isn't as i would say "fine" enough grain to get a good stain and get a good pattern from the wood.
Bills
Indeed, I was highly considering staining it because I can get 3/4" Grade A birch from a buddy of mine for $80-90 a sheet. I went with Grade B birch because I am going to have the box and door panels wrapped in vinyl when I get them done. I still might run it bare for a while (untill the doors are done)

nice. what kind of finish are you looking at. with how good the wood looks, i'd almost do some kind of stained finish. but thats me bro. really clean, i like it alot!!
Bills
The box will be wrapped in vinyl and the birch is not high enough grade to be stained (IMHO).

I might be wrong as I have 0 experience with aero-ports, but they seem to be really close to the back wall of your box.
They are 6" aero ports and there is OVER 6" to the back of th box, so no worries

Built my box for my new build last night with some help from my buddy Timmy D. I just want to start off by saying, I am not one of those people who can stop in the middle of doing something to take pictures. So with that being said, I tried to make it up by taking a few extra pictures.

I have no experience with the new version, with the updated mid and cross-over but I was extremely disappointed in the old version. The crossovers did not last, they were very poorly made. The tweeters (which as the same in the new version) are extremely harsh. This is in no way to put down DD because they make awesome subs and amps.

really? at my local lowes the birch was almost double the mdf?
Yea, its more the a "few dollars" more. Around here it is about twice as much as MDF but its worth the addition cost IMHO (stronger, lighter, and a lot easier to work with). A single layer of 3/4" will be fine as long as you use double layer on the baffle.
-
where did you get them that cheap i was going to buy them from sonic elctronix for 40
-
They are decent subs for the money, nothing special but great for people on a really tight budget. They can be had for under $25 actually. My buddy was running four off a SAE-1000D for a while.

thanks for all the replys im so glad no one ever really responds to any of my posts
WTF dude, your thread was up a whole 12 minutes. If you weren’t so impatient and came off like an ass , you might get more responses.

You can purchase dirrect from DD if there is not a dealer in your area. My vote goes for a 9500G.

Once my amp comes and I get it installed, I will get pictures and videos up. Going to start another box this weekend for bass race, going to be 4ft^3 @ 40Hz w/ dual 6" external aero ports.
SAZ-4500Ds are here !
