  1. Pretty sure there was a guy on here doing that in the past. Or it might have been somewhere else. Anyway, not sure who would be doing the actual work between you and your friend, but from your post you aren't all that convincing you actually know what you are doing, so you would definitely need many examples of the work. Carbon fiber is pretty tricky to get looking right, and if people are sending you parts to be wrapped and even copied with a mold you can't be making mistakes.

  2. Reppin Rose-Human Institute of Technology. Pursuing double major in Software Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Grats to you two also. Anyone else?

you sir can kiss your social life goodbye. I know how much work is involved in electrical engineering, and your adding software to it. Good luck.

Ive tried to inform him of this so hopefully he heeded my warning, lol

congrats BCP, rose hulman is a great school and very tough i believe as well

i start tomorrow for graphic design, my 3rd semester

I can back up that statement.

I start sept 1st at rose hulman for my 3rd year, 7th semester at rose. Electrical engineering/computer science (either minor or major) though I may be switching up some stuff. We will see.

plus now im going to have to stand over bcp to make sure he doesn't start slacking off..... lol

  3. With all due respect, what are you going in for?

It is going to be an experience (good and bad) but I tell you what there's no other feeling like leading Marines. You'll learn a lot from them but once you "got it" (a little time in and knowledge) sheeeeit you can't help but feel all the hard work and sweat was well worth it. Good luck and have fun with it and learn "the game" to make light of some situations (even though mainly the enlisted will feel the pain).

    Plus daddy runs alway suck

    Sir

I have been sensing you are a Marine or are at least related in some way?

Depending on exactly what you mean by what im going in for, as I said on my build thread Im doing the air track, but Im guessing you are meaning "why" Im doing it? Just in case you are, serving one's country I feel is something that gets into everyone's head at one time or another. Beyond that, im the type of person who takes on a challenge. That is the reason ive done track for several years and also why I decided to throw away going to a "party school" etc for one of the top engineering schools in the country that I knew was going to kick my butt every day. So, why not go for the top and be a leader? Beyond that, ive always had the dream of flying, and this route should get me there, at least for the start.

Hopefully that fairly well gives an idea, something like this is a bit difficult to fully explain why to a full extent. But, its a big deal and I definitely won't be taking it lightly.

Also thanks for the other kind words from everyone

In other news, Im in indy at the hotel. I have to be ready at 0500 to head to the airport, so incase this is my last post, see you guys later.

No, not questioning why you're joining SIR, just wondered what field you wanted to go to.

It does what it's told..... Sir

What do you want to fly? Fixed or rotary wing?

Your senses are correct btw, been in almost 6 years

I've just always had a thing for aircraft. Making use of the 3rd dimension interests me.

Right now id probably say fixed but I'm really up for either. From what ive seen thats a good thing since you don't get tto choose.

What exactly do you do if you don't mind me asking?

  5. I lold through that as well flashlight, and yes, I will have fun running my ass off, its the other stuff Im a bit worried about.

Thanks n8, and yes, I expect it to be the experience of a lifetime.

Im kindof hoping my last two years at an engineering college will help me out with the whole not sleeping and papers studying etc thing. From what ive heard from one of my friends who went last year ill probably get around the same amount of sleep (4-5 hours or so maybe) but it will be more physical activity so we will see how that goes. All in all im quite nervous and excited.

  6. Thanks guys. I am not actually a Marine yet so I can't really take any credit serving our country yet, I definitely plan on it though.

hehehehe they are going to love you. OCS is hell.

    :orly3:

Yea ive been doing a lot of physical preparation for it. I do track so my lower body has always been fairly built but my upper had been lacking. Should be pretty beefcake by the time im done, lol

  7. voltage coming out of your speaker inputs is indeed AC. I cant rememebr but a wall socket is the same thing as like a high power 60 hertz tone.

    Exactly!

Depends on the amperage that comes out of the light socket, if you were on a 30 amp breaker (assuming you could get all 30 amps to pass through the speaker without tripping the breaker) at 120v youd have about 3500 watts @ 60hz of pure wall socket enjoyment

    edit: 3600 to be exact

Not really. ohms law still applies here, so though what you are saying is correct, kinda, it doesn't directly depend on the amperage that comes out of the light socket. Indirectly yes.

Also to anyone who wondered, the signal coming out of a wall socket is usually extremely distorted, so that can help blow the sub as well.

Edit.... TheyDontWantMusic beat me to it

  8. Get more Ram, I got 32gb.

What do you do? Watch 10 pornos at once? Lol

That's crazy memory memory. I 'only' have 12GB (3 4GB DDR2 stick things) and my computer is lightning fast. I couldn't imagine yours... damn!

I use 3D graphics and video editing stuff. MAYA, 3Dmax, CS5 and I'am using Unreal 3 SDK for Android mobile programming. I use 6 lcds so I have a lot going on in the background.

My porn collection is already past 300 DVDs, so no need to waste extra CPU cycles on that. I also do some web development with windows and Apache.

What kind of video card setup do you have? Screens? Orientation? Sounds pretty legit.

  9. Please get off of your computer now and smash it to bits. Then, take a couple billion transistors, presumably that you created yourself, and put them together with perfect precision to get your computer back. Now, write your own language to program it, and post back here on when you are done. This is something that is hard but could come out well. Unlikely. Meanwhile, be sure to walk to work.

See where im going with this? Human society is built upon building on each others work if you know what I mean. We all benefit from it.

  10. Doing something that has already been done? Maybe. But it is done in a different way. If it works and is refined it allows possible applications that weren't available before. Such as a laptop speaker set.

Same way with many things. First thing I thought of, take lcd monitors for example. Im sure after lcd's were released many people thought a similar way as you were, and could be sold on a quality set up crt monitor. And yes they had their advantages still. But look at it now... lcd's have been refined to the point a crt is inferior in every way. (that I can think of) You never know, this 3d sound thing could be the same way.
