Depending on the measurement method used weather it center line or other ,It measure a length of 82-88" length . Ideal distance is 84" for these Drivers.
I have learned from researching that
From fs derive ¼ wavelength, chop 5% off that figure – this is your line length. -
I am very limited to height on this build. I am already Going to have to sand the top edged of my box to get it to fit properly.
-
Now I know what you mean .You mean basically the first or second design with a second cutout
-
Banging , are you refering to a "tapped horn"? where the subs are in phase with the exiting rear wave?
-
I am Working on a Project called B.A.B (Big Ass Box) it is a 30x 36x 14 t-line or Horn enclosure, in the trunk of a Ford Focus Sedan. It will hold 2 sets of Isobaric 10 Inch Sony Xplod Subwoofers.
I made several Designs before I rested on my Final Setup.
This is for a Single Sub Design.
This Was for a Isobaric Setup. I added more Bracing to reduce rattles
This is the Design I settled on.It will have the Non used Squares between the walls
Filled with expanding foam or PolyFill.
I will keep the thread updated with Pictures as I make Progress. I have it all marked out on 1 1/2 sheets of 3/4" Mdf Board.
I am open to any Comments suggestions and Criticisms . I may use some PVC pieces in the corners to allow the wave to bend.

K guys and Chode I re read you post twice funny stuff. I didnt spend the money on it so its not my loss
-
well m system is a lower powered setup so it would probably not max this meter out
-
yes it will peg at anything over 126db. My Friend who is also running xplods in a under sized sealed box in the trunk of a lincoln town car is getting approx 106 db.
-
I figure that it would be enough to give me a baseline of where i stand at.
-
Yeah me and a Friend are just really starting to get into audio and I am building both of us new boxes . We are just mainly going to compare our scores to our new boxes when they are finished. We didnt want to spend big just yet on a TL .
-
My setup us 4 Xplod 10's On 900 watts rms in a sealed rear facing box. At 50 Hz i hit 123 db, I hit 125 db on Pete Pablo - Vibrate. I know that the mic is accurate within 2 db. It was measured at the Dash . I am Going to be Building a Transmission line for my next setup.

I am wanting to make a semi-ground pounder. I want to do a wall with 10 8 inch subwoofers and a Power Acousticks 2200 watt amp.
My question is Flat wall sealed/ ported? or Clamshell? It wont see competition use but more of a loud daily
-
OH ok i appreciate it Decaf i am a visual person
-
TO Decaf: Thankyou for the design , and I am a little confused on what you are saying about the bracing .
To Marine: Dowls have Many Different sizes.
-
here is my box the side measurements take into consideration the mdf size
-
Ok i was reading an article that said that i prolly wouldn't need bracing but i was just making sure from you pros.
also do i need to predrill the holes when doing the screwing into the board on top?
also what is the benifit of using resin in a box?
-
It is a 39 by 16.5 by 17.5 box how does it need braced? also how should it be put together? with screws in the side or what?
-
ok my next question is how do i brace it ??
decaf how long is that port inside the box?
-
i found some specs here for the sub i have it has recommended ported box size and port legnth here
-
