  1. So last night me and my girlfriend were at my house upstairs when i heard my alarm start going off on my tahoe. I ran to the window and saw my car covered in flour and my buddies running to their cars to drive off. I went out side to see they had put flour all over my car, my girlfriends car, as well as my moms brand new lexus. I spent the next 45 mins washing off my car as well as my driveway and garage door. I woke up this morning to see that it had poored rain last night and that my car was still caked in flour, which had hardened cause of the rain. I took it to a car wash and had them powerwash it, there was still specs of hardened flour on it that they were afraid to take off for fear of taking off my clear coat, spent $40 and there is still flour everywhere. They quoted me $200 to take care of everything, get the exterior detailed, per car. Im going to have to take my car, my girlfriends car, as well as my moms lexus. My 3 buddies are gonna get stuck with a $600 bill. Just thought yall would like to hear about it.

  2. I read the recent thread about not needing but being recommended electrical thread but I'll be running about 2,500-2,800watts and I want a alt that can keep voltage as close to 14 as possible. No it isn't needed. With one good extra battery you should be fine but I'd expect voltage to drop to the low 13s or 12s. I want my 14volts as long as possible. Lol

yeah i understand its not needed but I'd want to be at 14 too. Alright well yall answered my question great, Thanks for giving me a number to shoot for.

  3. My fault, i didn't make myself clear enough. I meant along the lines of a new alternator and battery(s). I am planning on eventually putting in a btl or something along those lines on about 2500 watts. Id rather have a strong electrical system before i put down for the stereo my car couldn't handle on its own. I thought maybe a high output alt and a new battery, but i don't really know alot about electrical systems. Is that more clear?

    edit: spelling

  4. so yesterday i got some tint put on all around my tahoe. The shop that did it said not to roll down the windows for a week, but that with this weather (i live in Houston, 100 degrees daily) it may go quicker. Today I was sitting in my car and someone walked up to one of the windows to say something, and without even thinking about it i rolled it down. About a second after I pressed the button i realized what i was doing so i stopped and immediately rolled it up (It was only about 1/3 of the way down). I checked both the top and bottom for peeling but i saw nothing wrong. Will this mess up my tint at all? Or will it be okay?

  5. Where is the best/cheapest place to pick up copper 0 gauge wire? Ebay has kits for about $100, what are some other options?

Edit: I was also wondering if you all could look over my system and tell me if everything makes sense. I'm going to order it tonight and don't want to buy the wrong thing.

    15" Fi Bl

    AudioQue 1200d

KnuKonceptz Kolossus 0 gauge flex wiring kit

    Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD

Big 3 upgrade under the hood

(I am going to add some speakers in the future, not really sure what I want yet, but thats at the bottom of the list right now)

Does that all sound good or am I missing something?

  6. For the record its only a $25k truck. Its got 37k on it right now, the reason we got it so cheap was it was the LS model with the stock 20's added, aftermarket leather seats, and some other stuff. It was exactly what I was looking for.

And I think my parents would be cool if i know EXACTLY what im doing, and can show my dad EXACTLY how he can help me, so I am trying to figure out exactly what itll take some im not fumbling around in the dark.

I get everything except the battery to engine block ground, can someone explain that to me?

  7. Probably because they do care about what he doing. Working under the hood can be dangerous if don't know what you doing.

Yeah, its mainly my dad. He just bought me this car and I got wild dreams off riping off the door panels and tearing out the radio to create a beast of a system, and he shot that down because he's afraid I'll break a clip on the door, ruin my radio or break the dash, or just make the car fall apart from all the bass.

Alright so I understand Bat to Alt, and Bat to ground, but what is battery to engine block ground?

and what is the best way to get the wire I'll need? Do i need a kit or should i just go buy however much 0 gauge i need and all the terminals at a shop?

  8. I like that. you have a $40,000 truck, but you are young enough to not be trusted under the hood by your parents. Ballin.

Yeah man i definitely drive one of the nicest trucks in highschool. And once I get this system installed its gonna be even nicer. Alright, I'll try it myself, and if I don't succeed, I'll find a shop that does know or explain it to them. So all i need is 0 gauge wire and terminals? What exactly is the terminal? It goes on the battery so that it can fit 0 gauge wire right?
