clipping is when the amp puts out dc volts instead of ac volts.
it makes ALOT of heat and will toast any sub if you don't know what you are doing.
you could blow that sub with 1000 clipped watts easily. so you better be damn sure that those "2500" are clean as hell.
you will be probably only see 2200 out of the AQ and i would suggest finding someone with an oscope to set up your amp properly
here is somewhat of a guide to give you a better idea
http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=4382
is it mostly to do with the way the settings on the amp are set? or jus not enough juice or what is it?

alrite what exactly is clipping and how do i make sure it doesnt happen (newb here)
-
and again, box materials? glue? bedliner? bracing? what should i need
-
yeah just make sure your putting 2.5k and not 2.5k +clipping
alrite what exactly is clipping and how do i make sure it doesnt happen (newb here)

if the sub is up and port is back (underneath the sub on the floor) how much room should be in between the motor and the port wall? its 6 inches enough? if you get what i mean
-
its too late i already got the xl, should be fine though with the right box i hear people are puttin 3k to em no problem
edit: but i didnt get the amp yet maybe ill stick with the aq2200
-

-

Thats my buddys box we built for his 1 18 AQ HDC3, and i think that is gonna work fine i can almost get my head in the port
I can see the pic now, on my iPod. Ya that's alot of port. I'm thinkin port back sub up for mine though

box specs, bingo. aim for 16sqin of port per cubic foot and your fine.
so 105.0 divided by 6.5 is 16 exactly so is it perfect??
-
oh it does hit the lows really good i need to make a vid but i would only be able to get flex cause the bass makes the cam sound like shat.
got it up for yah man
i appreciate this dude but i still cant see the pic lol... its a little red x not sure why..
-
6.5 cu, tuned to 34, with 100.5 in of port for 2500 watts on 1 18 xl.
-
