  1. I appreciate the response. I'm looking at being right around 72'' of port area. I've designed the enclosure and should start on it this weekend. I'm also doing valve cover gaskets, polly urethane engine and transmission mounts, sway bars and bushings, plus running the 1/0 wire and hopefully installing the batteries. It will be a long few days of working after hours but should pay off. I'll post some pics in the members rides section.

  2. Hey bass heads.

    looking for some advice. I'm working with a 2005 Audi S4. I'm trying to figure out the best way to arrange the box design for output and efficiency. Being that it is a trunk car, there is an arm wrest that folds down and can be used to port through the rear seat. I'd rather not port through the package tray unless its determined this is absolutely the most efficient way to do it. I have planned on building a "wall" on the back of the rear seat mounts, to seal off that the box can slide against which should seal the box, and port into the cab of the vehicle. If there is a better way to do this, I'm all ears.

     

    Equipment used:

    2x DC lvl 4 m2 12s. D2ohm

    2x DB drive 2000.1 amps

    3x Deka 3400 batteries. 150AH

    Knu concepts 1/0 (2 power, 2 ground runs)

    Stock (200a) Alt for now. Hard to get anything for this car, or find room to add a second one.

     

    I'm reading that around 3 cubes net is where I should be, my question is around port. how much port area do I need? I'm looking to tune around 33hrtz.

  3. I'm not nut hugging here Steve, however i will say that is some great art work. I'm apprenticing and have been working on my grey shading for a while now. i can truely appreciate the art, time, effort, patience and determination there. Props to the artist for sure. I also like how it flows together. That style of art is hard to blend without making it confusing. Well done sir

  4. This may be a newb question. But i would rather ask for some opinions rather than harm equipment. I have two db drive platinum 2000.1d amps in my daily driver. I would like to run a single bass knob for them. The amps have a bass knob from the factory. What is the best/simple way to go about this? do I need a splitter? or can i simply splice the wiring and run one knob?

    I forgot to mention, i would rather not strap the amps, I can't get the ohm load i want if they are strapped..

  5. I appreciate all the feedback guys. I have not decided what to do just yet. As far as all the "Chevy" comments, I don't have a line up to choose from here. I was offered the escape as a trade. I'm a die hard honda and chevy fan. But I don't want a blazer, no offense to anyone they are great vehicles. I just don't want one. The escape in question is a 4cylinder model. And has low mileage. Has been well taken care of. Honestly it looks almost brand new.

    As far as audios with the escape, i would be putting 4 hdc12a's in it and two db drive 2ks. And a couple northstars. I am going to test drive the escape after work so we'll see how it grabs me. Also going to try and post a pic of it...

    :good: id trade my jimmy for that teg and some $$, but im keeping it for winter

    IMO go for something else other than a escape, id say keep the teg but with family thats not the best option

    EDIT: yes gas milage sucks, only thing i hate about mine

    Yeah family puts a damper on things. But as i said i have a few other project toys and i feel since Ive been spending so much effort on this integra that other projects are at a stand still. I'd like to get something big enough to haul groceries, my son and have some audio in it. Plus i could focus on the hatch or camaro. It just sucks because i have spent the summer building this car, i bought it as a roller, and have replaced everything. Its almost a brand new car. but, its time to get something a little bigger :shrug:

  7. I'm not hearing the best things about the escape so far. The problem with a blazer is, i can buy an older one (95-97) for around $1200-1500. And the 4.3 doesn't get the best mpg. I guess I'm going to keep searching for trades. I wouldn't get rid of the integra at all, but i have four other projects and i need something i can just do some audio, wheels and paint on and be happy. And consider it a "Daily driver" plus haul my son around and be able to get groceries..

  8. Well that's three no's lol. n8 i would rather have a big suv too, but im trying to keep some decent gas millage. I would love to have a trailblazer or an 01-03 tahoe.

    Hard to get loud huh? that's not good, def was liking all the cargo room that escape has. I could actually build a nice looking set up lol

    Alpine, what kind of issues did they have with it. I work for O'reillys corp office, and Ive not heard anything bad about them so that's why I'm asking.

  9. Alright so Ive been toying with the idea of getting rid of my integra. I want either a wagon or smaller suv of some kind. With kids and getting older its hard to have small two doors and a stereo. Anyways, I was offered an 01 for escape today. Its black, dark gray interior, 61k miles. front wheel drive five speed today. I'm not a big ford fan. But i looked at the escape. Its pretty nice, big enough for some audio and kids. plus 4cylinder so its good on mpg. My question is, what are the flaws with the escapes? And do you guys think its a good trade?

    Some info on my integra:

    1995 red

    5 speed with a rebuilt b18a 60k on it

    all the suspension and brakes have a little over 1000miles on them.

    body is pretty clean for its age.

    18s, tires and wheels have 1500 miles on them.

    Non of my audio goes with the integra.

    Lookin for some comments smd. whatcha got?

  10. I have a set of the XXX components in my integra, custom kick panels. They will get low and have lots of mid bass. The tweeter is very loud and clear. Honestly they are the best sounding set i've heard in that price range. Minus the woofer being a little hard for some applications being almost 4" deep. They are well worth every penny. My focals are still a better sounding speaker IMO but as i said for 1/4 of the price the REXXX6.5 set is a great deal.

  11. 1. the way your wording this is confusing the hell outa me. 2 that amp will be way too much power for 2 L7s. 15in L7s are 2000 watts max a piece. 2 of them is 4000 watts and its a 5500 watt amp. either get a 4000 watt amp or get 3 L7s

    There is no way the l7's are gunna take 2000 watts a piece man

    I agree 100% they will take the 800-1000 watts a piece that the amp will put out thou. As i said it will not ever do 5500 watts. Maybe cold, on perfect voltage, for 1 second it would put out 5500..not in an ideal vehicle.
