Kenwood KAC-9104D, which means when you calculate the fuse rating, I only get 650W max, and not 900w rms @ 2-ohms like they state. Oh well, I'll be upgrading to a Rockford Fosgate or Alpine shortly.

I would get rid of the new one, if it was 12". They're all 10's, so I'll have wait on the 12's. Also, the guy I went to told me that the amp I have already really isn't as powerful as I thought.

I took it to a guy who knows a lot about car audio and he checked it out, rewired it, and fixed it. I believe the last one was out of phase and was the reason the excursion was the way it was. I talked to him for a while and he gave me some great ideas on how to get the most out of the size of my car. He said to either go with four 10" subwoofers in a sealed box, or two 12" subwoofers in a small ported box.

You have no idea how dumbfounded and stumped I am. The third one will have the same excursion as the middle one and then like magic, there's even more excursion. By the way, I know that I need to break in the new subwoofer before I start giving it a lot of power, I was just doing this as a test. Here's how I wired it:

Yeah, the first one on the left is brand "spanking" new, the middle and the right ones are about five months old. I have them wired at 3-ohms.

I have a hunch that it is suspension failure, but I'm not completely sure. I'm not sure if you will be able to tell the difference, between the second and third subwoofer. I think you should do what YOU want to do not what everyone else wants you to do. I mean, you're spending thousands of dollars on something that you want someone else to choose? Do what you want to do and get what you think is best for you.

Kicker, Alpine, Pioneer, Orion, Rockford Fosgate, and a few other brands have great starter subwoofers, but if possible, learn what each brand is good for. Kenwood makes decent starter amplifiers and some headunits, Alpine is known for having quality products all around (headunits, speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, the works basically), Rockford Fosgate has outstanding amplifiers, and so forth. Some will disagree, but it's all up to you what want, but stay away from Pyle, Boss, and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head.

Okay, you should put some of your budget aside for an alarm if you don't have one already, it's not fun spending a lot of money and it being stolen later. For a beginner setup, there is a lot of ways to do this. For example, I currently have two 10" Kicker CompVR's in a 3.5 cubic foot ported box, tuned to 38hz paired with a Kenwood KAC-9104D with 900W RMS @ 2-ohms. I also have a hatchback and it's pretty loud, but it could vary for your car. I would suggest you get a four gauge wiring kit for you amp, I like Rockford Fosgate's because they seem reasonably priced for the quality in my opinion. You may be thinking you could be spending a lot of money, but I like to shop at SonicElectronix.com because they are one of the cheapest "name brand" sellers on the internet that I've found.

I have a set of 10" Kicker CompVR's in this massive (for a hatchback) 3.5 cubic foot box that is tuned to 40hz. This may not seem large, but it takes up the entire trunk and I didn't want to sacrifice seating. This is a huge upgrade from the 1.8 cubic foot sealed box that I had the subwoofers previously in. I didn't have the proper tools to make it perfect, but it's as close as i can get to perfect since I used a Skilz saw and a jig saw. I will make a video of the results if enough people request it.

Alright next question, what is a good tuning frequency for the subwoofers? Is the 34hz that I'm aiming for efficient enough for daily use (i.e. all-around bass or majority of the bass spectrum)?

I won't be able to fit two 6" aero ports between the two front subwooofers, and I really like the four 4" aero ports.

I think this is my favorite so far. I like how symmetrical everything is.
