he's working on that, hes got a part time job and full time student. right now we are just trying to diagnose a problwm, are you saying the cap is lowering amp volts??
-
double post FTL, I should have edited again but too late now, he's running 1/0 from front to back aand then 1/0 to amp

I have a buddy that is running a brutus 2610D, hes got a dc power alt and his voltmeter at the batt reads 14.5 at idle, when full tilt reads 14.0-13.9, all he has in the trunk is a hybrid power acoustik capacitor. Today i noticed his voltages differ. When first startup the batt voltage in front is 14.8 and so it the cap's. But after some time listening to music, when he full tilts it his batt in front reads 14.0 to 13.9, but his hybrid cap reads 13.5 to 11.1 when the songs freq changes. I got out my voltage meter and the amps read the same voltage as the caps. How can this problem be fixed. EDIT:: Car is a Civic, has a everstart batt in front

checked all fuses they are fine -
I had a little thing like this with mine, the back 2 bolts are more than enough to brace the alt, the reason its not fitting on the 3rd bolt right is because its a larger case alt

I'll have to look at the model number its like a pro audio vrx i think something, its older and has been discontinued, but i love it, was bought new years ago. It happened again i held it down to turn it up and when i took my finger off it kept going up to full volume, so i shut the amps off, after i messed with the volume up button i could turn it down. It's kinda like the volume up button is sticking. Can anyone help me please, Its a flipout touchscreen, and has a removable face, it wouldnt bother me so much replacing it, this was a really expensive headunit edit: Clarion Pro Audio VRX 745VD -

Hm.. Maybe a clarion problem -
I Went out to play some music, and this has never happened before but, i had the volume around 25/34 which is good listening levels, with the bass up, and i tried to turn it down, it wouldnt turn up or down, or skip throught tracks, so i wanted the music stopped so i turned the HU off, i try it a couple of times turning it on and off and pressing the volume button down to try to turn it down. So i stopped at the house to go get my wallet, and when i turn the car back on it works perfectly fine. Is this just a fluke?? or has this happened to other people before??

lol I did not read my last post before i submitted it,I didnt realize that i put what I did. LOL I Feel like a :noob: Alright so do you think i would be better off with a 12v. Maybe a D3100 or 3400 under the hood?? I could get a external regulator, but do you think it would be safer to run 12v
-
Yeah i heard that also from HHR ED in a post. I was pretty sure it would be ok, but like a 12v battery they can stay at 14.5 volts, would i need a VCM,MLA,Regulator or something else to have it charge higher without damaging the car, or just stick with the 12v edited::: ^^^^

I currently have a Mechman 270 and Everstart Battery. Im thinking about getting either a XS Power 12v Or 14v. Will I have to do any modification to install a 14v battery, Will it give too much power to the vehicles other electrical sources such as headlights/etc. or will I be fine
