I've heard that the Alpine Type X has better SPL and Sq than the 1 JL W7. Never heard one in person but maybe a FI Q??
-
Do yall think these will get loud and still sound great at 2 ohms instead of full power at 1 or .5
-
It's a DVC 2 ohm sub, dunno WTF the guy is trying to tell you.
So you have a few options if you wanna run both... get something beefy that will handle 0.5 ohm, like a SAZ-2000D, or get 2 smaller amps like AQ 1200D (are they strappable?) and strap them or run 1 per sub, or get something that makes power @ 2 ohms like a Kicker 2500.1
I have no idea either.... he confused me, and for a minute i had no idea if i even wanted the subs anymore lol. Well the thing is right now im in college and it will be really hard to buy 2 new subs, and an amp especially something like the saz2000 or kicker 2500.1. I had an idea of running my brutus at .5 ohms but i decided that was the worst idea ever
-
The Re* means both coils in series.
You have either a 1Ω load or a 4Ω per sub
So D2's is either 0.5Ω, 2Ω or 8Ω for the pair.
Yeah i was gonna run them in series for 2 ohms. But i'm really wanting to run two dvc 4ohms in parallel for 1 ohm load. I Was trying to ask him if they made them, but he told me i was looking at dvc 4 ohms. but they said dvc 2 ohms per coil
-
You are using two subs, correct?
Yes 2 subs, i thought they were dual 2, but parts express told me something completely different
-
if its a D2 then you parallel it down to 1 ohm..thats the way Im reading it
If its a DVC 2ohm i parallel it down to .5 ohms
I have never been this confused over an impedance.

Ok I called Parts Express Tc Sounds Dealer and asked questions about the LMS-R it says on the sheet DVC 2 Ohms per coil. So i asked him does the LMS-R come in DVC 4ohm So i could wire it down to a 1 ohm load. He says that "Impedance: 2 ohms per coil x 2 • RE: 3.96 ohms" is really 4 ohms per coil which is a DVC, which means that you could wire in parallel for a 2 Ohm load, or series for a 8 ohm load?? I looked at this page and listened to him and now im confused as fawk. What is the impedance of this sub, i thought i knew but i have no idea....
Here is the page with information

If you do 2 wires and terminal it down to one, make sure you have the correct impedance that you want
-
ok im really getting pissed off with my speaker wire because i have it wired up and i have to put 2 pos. into the hole and 2 neg. into the hole is there any other way or better way then just twisting them together and shoving them in there because it a bitch to get in and im tired of doing it!
use speaker wire posts. take your 2 speaker wires and solder them into the post, and then pretty much just put the adapter in the terminal holes

Yeah its very Power Hungry

Sorry, I didnt mean it like that. It's hard to interpret words online.
It's alright bro, Everything's good. Just losing my mind right now. I found subs i think are awesome wanted to run them but they only come in a DVC 2 ohms. So my choices are either 2 ohms or .5 ohms on the amp i have. So im kinda like well crap right now. It normally wouldnt be a problem but im in college right now, and money is too tight to buy another amp
-
Nevermind this thread switching subs
-
my 1606s at 1 ohm get pretty hott
My 2010D doesnt get hot at all, barely gets warm at 1ohm
-
Haha, not daily
Edit: why don't you sell that amp (if you have it) and get the Sundown saz-2000D
Just asking, I dont plan on full tilting it daily. Just certain times.
-
Will this amp Be able to run on a .5 ohm load. I know its stable at 1ohm but will a .5 ohm load be alright? I don't plan on running it constantly all day. just hear and there at decent levels
-
i think kasey "thehoe92" had the TCs and they blew up on him in a week or something stupid. might want to check with him.
I Talked to kasey, he's never ran them
-
Never dealt with the LMS-R...But i dealt with a few LMS ultra's hands on and they were fuckin beastly as hell and pounded
Yeah the Ultra is super Beastly.

Tc Sounds
Anyone have reviews on them
-
I'm wanting something that will get loud and handle power efficiently. I just put the fi q in because it handles 1k. I'm leaning towards the lms, but don't know much about them. I've heard the ultras and loved them
-
Put em all in a hat and draw one.
Thats what I feel like doing. I'm really leaning towards TC Sounds, Or Audioque HDC3. Has anybody had any experience with the TC Sounds LMS-R
-
What's the budget? Does it even matter?
I pretty much just narrowed it down to these subs.
-
All of these are 12" Im Buying 2 Of one of these Brands. T3 Audio T1000. Audioque HDC3, DD Audio DD3500, TC Sounds LMS-R, Fi Q, Fi Bl (Just Cooling), or MCD 1K12. I Need some help deciding guys.

I need 12's, How Expensive are DD's
Mechman Alt with adjustable voltage

I've heard of many Dc Power Reg's failing also. BUT that's not the case, what is the case is that EVERY alt company has flaws, but if the alt company offers awesome CS and the alt is fixed and returned in less than a week, then i call that a great company. I wouldn't call that above bashing. I returned my Db electrical 3 times before i went with Mechman it cost me over 100 in shipping and i got it bench tested, it was rated to do 105 idle, 220 max. My alt was lucky to do 100 max. People just have different tastes in car audio. One person might like DC power while another likes Mechman, while another likes EA, on and on.....
