  1. Hey guys! I am rebuilding the setup!

    2 DC Level 4 15s

Alright since the whole setup is rebuild I would like some help here on the enclosure!

    What should i do?

    1) 4th Order Bandpass

    2) Ported

DC guys, can you suggest the enclosure that is balanced for LOW and LOUD!

Volume! Port Area and tuning for ported

1st and 2nd chamber volume! Port Area and tuning for bandpass.

Lets hope this time it turns out really well! The car met with a small accident and the front bumper is damaged.

It also requires painting or wrapping. So we postpone the plan to upgrade the amps only!

  2. Thanks to Rusty and the team for bearing us! We are currently the official distributors for DC Audio in United Arab Emirates (UAE)

We started with a simple order to build up the brand image and would be posting all the DC Audio creations in this post.

Might be Moving to DC 3.5K or two DC 2.0K, which one would be the best for this?

  3. @Hugh G. Rection, I didn't know that marine speakers can work on cars, lol. I always thought they're for boat only? I'll look into that. Thanks.

@General Neo, thanks for the comments. It gives me an idea what to look for when it comes to box design for Solo X and component altogether.

I have installed Kicker marines speakers in truck and they do the job. If you actually check with kicker for speakers that can play real loud, for eg playing with trunk open

They would recommend trying out the KM 6500.2 and additional KM6500, these can get really loud. So if you want to install them inside your car, go ahead. Just set the crossovers correctly and do rated power or slight more. They sound really loud.

So for the enclosure do exactly the one to do SUV enclosure. You wont be disappointed. Else you will have burnt coil for sure, atleast the stinking coil.. :)

    Good luck.

  4. Hey good luck with the setup. I might be able to give you some headups... Running similar setup in my Tiburon.

I am running 1 set of RS65.2 in the front along with the Kicker Solox 12.

I am not running exactly the one to do box but a modified version of the one to do enclosure.

When bass hits the single component cant be heard over the sub lol. I am pushing around 135Wrms to the components by using a DLS CA23. And its really loud but not good enough for the single soloX. Try also running some KS 6930 or 6x9 coaxials as well.

The modified 'one to do' box...

i.e. I am running 6cuft box tuned down to 32hz. I am pushing around 2000W RMS with 2 x DLS CAD11 strapped. It plays the lows pretty well. On a quick test i was playing 143db on 32hz on the song bass I love you. I am running stock electrical.

Now I noticed the sub doesnt play the 40hz upwards pretty well and drops the dbs real quick. So a little investigation showed the the one to do enclosure is tuned around 45hz and the WIN ISD shows that this box will maximize the subs performance.

So please dont tune the box to less than 40 hz if you are going 6cuft.

  5. Fuse it for sure! Use a 5 amp fuse, that's all it needs. Seen non fused mistakes blow into thick smoke. Lucky the smoke a;ways helped to switch of the stuff and investigate the issue. Keep the fuse at easily accessible range.

These leds over a period of time crack or damaged and could even short out.

Plus your source of power if its from the OEM fuse block you risk damaging the power lines to the fused distribution block. If you are taking it from the main amp power wire then its a different story.

  6. Hello designers, I need a quick favor. Can anyone design for me a Mascot or logo for my small shop?

The name of the shop is NEOGLOW Designs. We do car audio installations for now and has neoglow branded products like power wires, distribution blocks etc..

Any help is appreciated. Please look at my Fb page to see my logo. So something can be build on that theme.

    my fb page www.facebook.com/neoglow

If you arent getting me, I want something similar to this but more appealing as it has to be a logo

  7. grim83 said it! The LED lights up because it rectified the AC signal positive wave side and covered it into light energy. It has no relationship with clipping or distortion.

By the way I would like the real owner of the video try and plug the leds to a 1000W mono block and watch those leds blow up!

Good attempt to fool a casual looker. This video was purposely created to create confusion!

  8. I have tried this and all you need is a good quality 16 AWG wire for an L7 (Short length of 1-2 meter). Used wires from 22AWG to 8 AWG on L7. And tested the benefit of 16AWG(pure copper) vs 12 AWG (Branded) on TL.

I can say for Pure Copper wire and not the aluminum mixed. I use 8 AWG for hi output setup especially if the wire quality cant be determined. This is for headroom sake only.

  9. Thank you all for trying to help.

However the link doesnt have any images, its all gone. I had a chance to see the wait area by following another link in the same thread. Its awesome and it might never happen in my case as I dont have so much space and will never have.

Also looked into the your local shop/dealer, couldn't find anything more than posted in the link.

I was looking for workshop area or installation area setup and designs. Like the tool box arrangements, lighting, vehicle parking, decorations, safety, work benches etc... So pictures or videos can help.

  10. Hey Guys, I used to run a small roadside car audio store and now decided to get a bigger place. Havent seen much car audio store where i am.

Hope some of you can share some shop ideas, designs, pictures, videos etc... I searched and couldn't find any particular thread in this style. This can also help others to get a basic idea and show off yours.

Once Completed I will post the pics of what I have done. This is strictly in tight budget.

My place is 170 Square meter ie 1800 SQ Feet, 17 x 10 meter or 55 x 32 Feet. I will be using 8 x 3 Meter to setup a office area, customer reception and demo board.

All ideas are welcome and thank you for the support.

    Hook me up!

  11. Looking for a little more info on a kicker L5 10, how much vent do i need per sub? Also whats everyones recommend box size before displacment.

Honestly I would follow the Kicker manual. I have build several boxes for the S10L5, especially the Sealed minimum and SQ. I have also build boxes for L7's. The subs has maximum SQ and Loudness when you build the box according the the Kicker Manual.

Download the manual from Kicker website.
