my old setup did 149.2@36hz legal, 150.0@37hz door open off an audiopipe 3500, clamped less than 2k.

just got to get a good design. those trucks usually meter well with port on passenger side.

I had a pair of 1242d's and the new 1243d's are DEFINITELY louder and hit the lows better/smoother. Not to mention it does 600w RMS instead of 500w. That and the FS is 27-33hz instead of the old 33-36hz. And the magnet is more shallow.

I've been tempted to try the newer verion r's but I picked up a pair of Ascendant Havoc's and they really love my box. Much better hairtrick vids coming soon...

The layers are usually done as a precaution for playing very loud and very low. With a high tuned spl build you could get away with thinner walls without having to worry as much about stuff breaking. But the newer trend is to reach very high pressure levels at very low frequencies which is extremely destructive.
