  1. Depends on how much room you have. 4 of the D1200 or 3 of the D3400 or D5100 would be a good choice.
  2. That would give him a great power supply for the system to bring it up to its peak performance.
  3. We will be closed Dec 24-27 and will be back in the office Monday the 28th at 8:30. We will also be closed Dec 31-Jan 3 and back in the office on Monday Jan 4th at 8:30. I will try to check in periodically through out the off days and answer what questions I can. If you have any questions just shoot me a PM, because I can not get on my work email from home. Hope everyone has a Great Christmas and a Safe New Years! Don't be an idiot and drink and drive!!!
  4. The D6500 is 11.8L x 7.2W x 6.8H and weighs 58lbs The S3400 is 10.24L x 6.75W x 7.20H and weighs 46lbs 6500 will support 3000watts as a starting battery and 4000watts as a secondary battery 3400 will support 2500watts as a starting battery and 4000watts as a secondary battery The 3400 is $50 cheaper also.
  5. We do not recommend mixing batteries with different chemistry, but if you are using it as a daily driver it will work. If you are going to let the vehicle set for a while you should unhook the battery. I would recommend you leave the D2700 in the back and replace the delco battery upfront when you get a chance with the S3400.
  6. S3400 would be the best for a direct replacement with the IBar kit 551 for the side terminals.
  7. I left at 4:00 yesterday, so as soon as the accounting department forwards me the info that came in yesterday I will update you all on the #. Right now we are at 22 batteries. I was able to sneak a couple batteries in for you all yesterday to help with the numbers.
  8. For audio applications you might as well just through that RC and AH crap out the window!!! Those test are done to determine the reserved in the battery with LOW amp draws for LONG periods of time................. which has nothing to do with your application. Just like the CA and CCA tests on batteries. Those are done in 30 second test.............. how many starters in todays cars can handle a steady start of 30 seconds? Pretty much none. Audio applications need INSTANTANEOUS power in SHORT bursts for peak performance. The more batteries you have hooked together the better your internal resistance in the batteries are, which gives you better performance. Again, this was just me throwing some info out there so everyone doesn't just fixate on the D3100. Yes it is a heck of a battery and puts out a TON of power, but there are other options out there. In a lot of cases because of the size and set up the D3100 is the best option, but in other cases multiple smaller batteries will provide even better performance.
  9. I get PMs and emails all the time asking "Do I need to run a D3100 in the back?" If you are running batteries in the back it is really up to you and what you want. Is the D3100 the biggest baddest battery?.....Yes, but you can run multiple smaller batteries in the back for close to the same price and get more power. For instance the D3100 will give you 5000+ watts of power for the internet price of $349, but you could run to D1200 batteries in the back and get 6000+ watts of power for a internet price of $360. $11 dollars more and you get 1000watts more for basically the same footprint size the D3100 takes and the two D1200s weigh 8.88lbs less. Some people want to run the biggest battery they can as their secondary battery and there is nothing wrong with that, but dont think thats the only option. So when you are looking at running secondary batteries don't think its the D3100 or nothing. If you have the room for a D3100, then you have many options you can look at. Under the hood you are usually restricted to a direct replacement battery (because of size restrictions) but as a secondary battery the choices are only limited by the room you have and how creative you can be!!
  10. If you add more power to the supply, then you are going to get better results. The alternator will charge the battery fine, of course an upgraded HO alternator will charge it back faster. Like was said in the thread you started before YES a new battery will improve your system. Its just like in a race car.............. you are going to get better performance running 110 octane in it than you are 87 octane!
  11. Nothing major. The D3100 is 12.99l x 6.81w x 8.43h if you want to take a look at what is involved. The 3100 is what Steve is running under his hood. on the way Kia does not provide us with the actual specs of the battery in the Spectra, but I think the S1200 would work in that application. Just check it out to make sure. the S1200 is 7.8l x 6.54w x 6.69h.
  12. Is that a optima 34/78 red top? If so the S3400 would be the direct replacement for that and will give you a ton more power. How many total watts do you think you are running?
  13. That is a 24F, which has the posts reversed from our 2400. If you have enough slack in the cables you could put the battery in backwards and use the IBar kit to where the cables would hook up about mid ways on the battery. If you do not the slack in the cables the S1200 would be the closest to a replacement we have.
  14. D3100 will fit, but you have to do some mods to get it in there. A S3400 would better fit for the factory location with the IBar kit PN 551 for the side terminals. Just updated it we are at 19 so far. Still a ways to go and a short time to get there. 5100 Everyone would like to see 15%. Year and engine size is a must to know what battery will fit under the hood. Your application is calling for a BCI group 75 battery, but most of the time in the GM vehicles you can get a BCI group 78 battery in there which would be the same dimensions as the 3400. You could check and see if the 3400 would fit 10.24l x 6.75w x 7.20h. You would also need the IBar kit PN 551 for the side terminals. You could run the S3400 with the IBar kit PN 551 for the side terminals.
