  1. Sorry, but the VCM will not work for that application. It will not work with the newer 2 pin GM applications.
  2. What year is it and what plug is on your alternator? What type plug is on the alternator? Shape and # of pins
  3. No problem. Just letting you know in case you were searching around for powermaster batteries. Didn't want you getting a small number of results to get your info from. Some people do refer to them as powermaster batteries, but powermaster and XS Power are two totally different companies.
  4. The HC1400 is no where close to the power of the 5100, although it is close to the same dimensions. The HC1400 is more along the lines of the D/S1200 as far as power goes. The 5100 and 5100R does fit a lot of import vehicles, but it isn't for all the imports. It is to tall for a lot of vehicles.

  6. Two D925s or D975s (as mentioned above) would give you all the power you need and a little extra. You will NOT find another battery out there that out performs out batteries!! If you want to use a bar to connect your batteries I would go with the D975s, because the posts are flush with the top of the battery. Myself I would go with 2 D680s! They are smaller in size but produce huge power for their size, and they can be mounted very easily to give you a great look to your system. On a side note...................... PowerMaster doesn't make batteries.
  7. D6500 would be the direct replacement for that application and will give you about 3000watts of power as a starting battery. Adding a secondary battery would optimize the performance of the system. You could go with one of the smaller batteries and get great performance out of it.
  8. What year/make/model/engine size is it again? No the VCM will not work on most Hondas.

  10. A secondary batter in the back will help you with voltage dropping. By adding the second battery you are giving your system two sources to pull from instead of just the battery under the hood which is being used to run the vehicle and all the OEM electrical systems. You will see better performance though by changing out the battery under the hood as well. I am guessing it is probably the OEM battery and will not function as well as a good AGM battery. Another option to help until you get your HO alternator is using the VCM so you can charge at a steady voltage rate.

  12. I have a 2008 dodge charger so your saying go with 4 d925s AND replace my oem batt for a total of 5 batts ? Which engine option do you have in your charger? Do you want a direct replacement for the OEM? No I would replace the battery under the hood and add secondary batteries to give you the power you need for optimal performance of your system.

  15. What year make and model is the vehicle? If you went with the small D925 or D975 and put 4 of them in that would give you over 6k watts of power. I would use the OEM replacement under the hood and then depending on your size restrictions and personal preferences choose the batteries you want as your secondary batteries.

  17. You are correct the VCM will give you a steady output. In our test the amperage did not drop when we stepped up the voltage.
  18. With a unbiased opinion I would have to say that is up to the user to decide. If watching the voltage drop from 14.9 to 14 wouldn't hurt, then it prob isn't for that user. An advantage to the VCM is that you can regulate the voltage to a steady rate and keep it at that rate without any flux in your voltage.
  19. Ok first off lets not jump to conclusions here.........lol We are shipping a few VCMs out this week. The people that have theirs on order already will be shipping by the end of the week. To those customers that have waited.... THANK YOU!!!! Any new orders will probably ship the middle to end of next week. We are still currently getting these packaged and ready to go, but they will not ship until next week. These are for the first applications we listed and have on the application guide on the site. I do not have a good date on when the other applications will be ready to go. I will update you as soon as I hear a good date. I spent some time working with the VCM yesterday and man this thing is exciting!!! The ease and control-ability of the controller is awesome! It is very easy user friendly and easy to adjust. You can increase and decrease the brightness of the controller if you want to. I did find a few things that I think people will have questions about after they start using it, and I will post and try to answer these ahead of time. Is it a true "plug and play" module? Yes, it is to 99.9% of the users, but there will be that .01% that dosen't think it is plug and play. I say this because you do have to connect 3 wires your self and there is now way we can get around that. The instructions lay out how to hook it up step by step and make it very easy. Here is how you hook it up. Connect the YELLOW fused wire to your alternator charge post with the battery. Connect the BLACK ground wire to your alternator case or other good (BARE METAL) ground point near your alternator. Connect the RED wire to FUSED side of a ignition switched circuit in the fuse box. You unplug your harness plug going into your alternator and plug it into the VCM wire harness. Then you plug the VCM wire harness into your alternator. Run the wire harness to the mounting point of your choice and mount the controller. What are the settings for 12/14/16v applications? 12V - 14.2 to 15.2 14V/16V - 14.2 - 19.5 What can I charge my XS Power Batteries at? IF USING THE VCM WITH XS POWER BATTERIES NEVER EXCEED THESE VOLTAGES: 12V BATTERIES - 14.9VOLTS 14V BATTERIES - 16.9VOLTS 16V BATTERIES - 19.5VOLTS I have my VCM set to 15.2V, but my voltage is dropping to below 12V. Why? The VCM is a Voltage Control Module. It cant make your 80 amp OEM alternator produce the power of a 250 amp dual alternator kit. For example if your system is pulling 500 amps but your alternator is only producing 80 amps, then it is going to start drawing from your battery bank. Once this happens your voltage will start to drop. As more questions come in I will post them up on this post.

  21. AH has nothing to do with your requirement in a battery for audio uses. AH is a test at low amp draw for an extended period of time. Audio needs instantaneous power. Depends on what application you are running the batteries in. You would probably want to use a OEM replacement battery upfront and then you could put anything in the back.
  22. If you have some extra room length wise the 3400 would be a great option. It is 10.24 length. Then a Ibar kit if you are still using your side posts.
