  1. i have never heard dc coils burn easy. my coils looked brand new when i reconed them after over a year of abuse. and i did get them smelly a few times. team mate never burnt a coil when he used a 12k on them.

who burnt their coils 4 times?

ever think if the same person keeps burning subs... it could be the user?

It was alpine who burnt them up.... I edited my first post because I didn't want to trash talk to much ...... I found it odd that skittles didn't even know his teammate went through re cones like he did. I witnessed him do it 3 times myself

  2. It didn't tear the surround so we just re-glued it. Sorry no photos. In my best guess is there may have been a poor glue spot which broke loose first causing it to chase around about 6". The spiders were fine. I noticed that the landing around the surround was smaller because of the height issue especially where the mounting holes were. Oh the lighter side I just chalked it up to user error. I was able to post a 148 on the first burp I did!

  3. Honestly I do not understand all of the parameters in choosing the right woofer for the application. Hence my questions. A couple of things that have me worried are in my testing yesterday I launched a cone out of a mayhem running an saz1500 at .5 ohm with a box rise of 3x. Granted it could have been a questionable glue job; however, when we received the new recone with 7 spiders it looked as if all the spiders were added to the bottom thereby raising the surround approximately 3/8" from the basket. The recone was glued by authorized AA dealer because of the aforementioned reason of it not sitting flush with the basket. I didn't want it to be issue caused by me or my teammate. Can you explain what went wrong?

  4. Nick I would like to run 9k to a single sub for burps ONLY. Would you recommend the SG or N3? Depending upon your choice what options would you recommend for your choice sub? My enclosure is 15" cylinder for a 12" sub. It's volume is adjustable with the maximum 1.7 cube. Car is a CRX street application

  5. Most of the time the shit I say isn't even that bad. It just isn't what everybody else says.

I like the Warhorse idea though. For 1200 dollar, you can't find 10k RMS. Plus the fact its supposedly 90% efficient.

I wonder where they measured the efficiency at? 4ohms and 100hz? Or whatever most amps are measured at.

The war horse is suppose to put out maximum no matter what the ohm load or the impedance rise is. If I can remember I'll let you know what the testing turns to be. My team just went through this very thing we ditched 2 strapped AQ 3500's. Which were the new version to pick up the 2 Warhorse's. On a side note the warhorses do not go below 2ohm! I just got a text the alt and the warhorses got delivered yesterday! And we have a comp this weekend so you can guaranty to find some results Sat-Sunday.
