yeah, i think im the only one that has ran these in a sealed box so far.. but wouldnt these be cheaper than a MX ?
I would PM WCA Rusty or email him if you wanted to look into DC subs.
ooops sorry i wasnt talking about your subs i meant the MX.

i know my DC lvl4XL 15s sound good in a sealed box
IMO i would never run that sub sealed. and for that price you could find something cheaper but i would not nessecarily say better. everyone just has their opinion for what they like. and just depends on what you are trying to accomplish out of your setup.

in my full size bronco subs back and port back was the best for me. but when i had them firing up they shook the hell out of the fiberglass top.
in my ext truck now the loudest for me is subs up and port up.

I was trying to avoid that cause I like the stock look. Is the mid bass really that much better on components?
its not that its better its easier to tune. when you have 3 ways off the amp you are just giving them power from the amp. with components you have alot more options to tune.dont get me wrong if i never had components i would be more than happy with the 3 ways i have now.

Thanks....The 500a2 is 250w x 2 @ 2 ohms---2 of the 4-10's wired @ 2 ohms in a vented box for low bass. The other 2 in a smaller sealed box w/ a higher frequency setting w/ a less powerful 150 x2 mtx amp. I listen to alot of metal and my wife likes alot of hip hop. So trying to get the best of both worlds.
DOOR SPEAKERS:
-2-way vs 3-way...which is better?
-go for 6x8's instead of 5x7's so i can get the max size if speaker?
-will amplifier intended for these be sufficient? 250a2?
SUBS:
-will 500a2 and mtxpro150 be sufficient for 4 10" type r's?
-is my assumption that a smaller box with a higher frequncy setting need less power right?
-I intend to put my stock rear seat and back support seat in when im done. Will this affect
the vent since it will be covered w/ the ex.cab seats in stock form?
I think thats all the questions I have... sorry its sooo long. Will someone please answer these? PLEASE!!!!!
if i where you i would get component sets. right now i have 6/9 in front doors 3 ways and they sound pretty damn good but im saving the money to get a set of componets. i have 5.25 in read doors. and they are powered by a soundstream 500.4 and they sound pretty damn good but i still get a lil frustrated because the midbass is not there like i want it so thats why i say go components.

how stiff are they ?
all i know is ive been on this site for over a month and didnt think much of it until i started looking at the build logs. and was just amazed. ill never have the money to do all that ive seen . but it aint about how much money you got. its just the enjoyment of doing the install itself. and if you have haters fukkem. keep doing what ya doin. because apperently you done something right. and now i want to put 18's in my truck. shit ill just photoshop the subs aand build a wall in my truck and just tape the pics to them.
