  1. No mad heres. The video doesn't show much of the flex with the cloudy day and phone focus. If I get bored I'll take a vid tomorrow when I get to work if no one is there to show some window store window flex 6 feet in front of me. FTW

Oh and it's tuned at about 34ish

    Cool, cool...

I liked your door panels A LOT.

Could someone PM me about DC subs pricing?

    Thanks!

  2. I apologize my car isn't 15 years old and the steering wheel isn't pulling out of the dash. Lol. But no the camera doesn't pick up all the flex. Just a crappy iPhone cam. I don't like the flex but all of my doors panels breathe, my windshield moves enough to see it go up and down. My entire dash does the wave when 33hz hits and my steering wheel flexes a decent bit.....

Edit: and I might as well throw my rear view out the window because it's practically about to fall off anyways

    hahaha

    Cool, man!

Sorry if I pissed you off... Wasnt my intention.

Whats the Fb of your box?

  3. That video I posted is a 12" XL on less then 1400 watts....

    Dude, can I be honest?

Maybe the camera didnt pick up the flex and all, but I didnt find it THAT impressive.

I was hoping I would do something like this with a DC sub on 1500w:

You guys think I can achieve something like that with my system?

Again, thanks for the help so far yall!

  4. Get the 9887. I call my kenwood the "skipwood" for a reason :P

    Cool! Thanks, man...

What about the sub? Wich one would you buy to hook up in 1400w? LVL 4 or XL?

    Ty

    get the lvl 4 ;).

Why would you say that? I wanna understand theses things...

Get the XL, I cant see the lvl 4 being louder then the XL even underpowered by a couple hundred watts, the XL imo is one of the top subs out right now, I mean theres guys hitting 175 db's with em, beating dd99z's and they sound the best among all the super subs (btl's, dd's, HDC3, etc.)

Cool! But dont you think 1300~1400w is kinda low power to move the XL's "weight"?

  5. dude itll beat the shit outta your cigarette box on your power in a good box, what kinda car

Well, its kinda like this one:

    imagem059jc4.jpg

I like it. It sounds good. But I'm wanting something else after just a few months with it. For a single din though it's pretty good and has quite a few features for tuning

Can this player acts like a subsonic filter? Like...can it cut the frequencies below 20hz off my sub?

  6. you cant save up for electrical at all or what?

Yes I can. But thats not the problem: here in Brazil we dont have places that sell big alts like in there, man. And my car is like a cigarette box, meaning It cant hold a lot of batteries.

I already have two extra AGM giving me 2000 max amps each and with an ESR of 4.5mohms...

    hehe

Its kinda rare to see cars with alt upgrades in here (and in these rare cases, they usually stack two or three stock alts in the engine). Even ppl with Soundigital 16k dont have alt upgrades. They just put tons o batteries in the vans.

  7. Thats just what , and Rob told me about a month ago for 1500wrms, and Rusty confirmed it. Lvl 4s arent like XLs or lvl 5...

And what should I get from this, man? That for 1500w it would be better getting a Lvl 4 w/ lvl 5 coils instead of getting a Lvl 4 XL that can handle 1500w?

I know they arent the same... Thats why I wanna know wich sub would perform better in my amp.

The xl is an efficient sub. Plus if you ever decide to upgrade the amp the xl will love it. However the lvl 4 is a great sub with or without the lvl 5 parts.

I wont be getting an amp upgrade anyday soon. Keeping that in mind, you still think it would outperform a lvl 4 in my system?

One more thing: The lvl 5 parts wouldnt make the sub less efficient in some kind of way? I mean, ofc they would end up accepting more power, but would that sacrifice anything?

get the XL room for more power in the future

Im not considering an upgrade on my amp. 1500w rms is already hard to keep on stock alt. Imagine something bigger... lol

Btw, thanks for those who helpeded so far! XD

  8. Uhm.. So.. I'm kinda new here. I'm from Brazil and will be making a trip to NY in Feb/11.

Was hoping to get some DC subs when I get there, but dont know what would be better for my system.

I have a TE1501D, voltage not very good (dropping down to 12.8Volts) and was thinking about getting a single Lvl 4 or a XL. I suppose my amp would put out something like clean 1300~1400w in that kind of voltage.

What sub would be a better choice for me? Keeping in mind I love the lows.

    Thanks!
