  1. I recently joined this forum and started a new build in the last week or two. So I thought it would be cool if I posted some progress pictures up:

I just bought a Orion H2 12.2 2000w RMS from a friend and a Kenwood 1000w RMS amp. I got rid of my old system (some cheap quiet subwoofers) and wanted to go a little louder. I built a 1.6cu sealed box because i wanted SQ instead of SPL. I gave them I test on old original 8 gauge wiring and blew the fuses on the amp itself. This single 12" gets louder than i ever expected it to in a sealed box.

    So far Ive have

    -25' 1/0 knuconcepts power

    -knuconcepts 4 gauge power wire

    -tsunami fuse holder/distribution block

Need to do big 3 ground upgrades and finish cutting all the pieces.

    Tell me what you think-

  2. Hey all, this is one of only a few things that I have posted her so bare with me...

Ive decided to upgrade my subs in my car (03 vw passat) and I am looking for a sealed enclosure that will support my 12" 2ohm Orion HC Sub-woofer. After playing around and trying to find a reasonable sealed box size I'm puzzled at the results.

after some research I found that optimum Qtc Value for a sealed box is .707, so after throwing in all the subs specs into a box calculator I found that the box size should be 4.13Cf3 This seems HUGE. I realize that Qtc values generally range from .9-1.2 but i hear that .707 provides best curve and SPL levels in sealed box

Orion's specs state 1Cubic foot. I know their specs are not accurate, and provide best power handling, but should I meet in the middle and build a box between .75 and .8 Qtc which states i need about 2.2 cubicfeet. I want nice bass, but i chose a sealed box because i dont want my car shaking like crazy as it would with a ported enclosure and I'm too lazy to fab a ported enclosure.

    Any ideas?
