  1. No hate but clipped music is present

    I haven't gotten a chance to listen to every track yet. But I'll check it all out. He does all the mixing and rapping on it. He still learning the recording equipment too. But idvsay he's pointed in the right direction. He's getting me about 50 CDs to hand out at the TDH show this Sunday. They are free (the CDs) just want to see some ya banging it in a vid if you like it.

    This is a 220 amp alternator from Excessive Amperage. It was powdercoated to match the paint on my truck which was an 04 Dodge Ram 4.7L v8 engine but it will work on quite a few other dodge/chrysler vehicles. It also has an external regulator for cranking up the voltage to where you need it. I had my truck set at 14.9v

    This is a 750.00 setup and I'm asking 550.00 shipped in the USA. It was only on my truck for two months and I have just sold the truck today.

    this is a 1200.00 amplifier (when new) I have had it in my 04 Dodge Ram for a few years now and it helped me get SQ championship in Maryland in the Master class 3 years in a row. Great amplifier with superb sound. rated at 800 watts but it will do more than that... if you want a great SQ amp this is the one!

    I'm asking 550.00 shipped in the USA. 400.00 plus shipping.

  4. Hi, i have 2 12" JL w6v2's just bought from a JL authorized dealer, and a custom box they built with the subs facing down and port out the front.

    When the subs play anything below 30hz they make a very werid rattling noise, it is bearable but noticeable enough to have me worried(Almost sounds like a knocking). I can not tell if its the structure of the box or the actual subs making this noise, Any and all opinions are welcome !!

    3-5 seconds

    13-15 seconds

    22-24 seconds closest to side of sub woofer

    ---------------------------------------------

    JL Audio actually faxed the dealer the box design claiming it would work best in a softtop vehicle

    HD 1200.1 amp

    Head Unit Settings From Dealer

    Bass = -6

    Sub = +10

    Treb = 0

    Fade = +R2

    sounds like your box is coming apart a friend of mine had the same issue pulled the carpet back off the box and you could see it coming apart just a thought

    This is what I'm thinking it is.

    Sounds like you are simply bottoming the sub out. Basically over excursion, causing the coil to hit the bottom of the motor. Usually a result of playing below tuning with no subsonic filter set.

    What is the box tuned to?

    This was my first guess. The problem is if it plays20hz fine, and 40hz fine... but makes that noise at 30... that rules out the subsonic and points more towards sub or enclosure.

    Yikes, i will have to call the guy and ask what the box is tuned to. Didnt know you could bottem out at 30 HZ but play 40hz and 20hz just fine? the subs do make a clapping noise almost when bass plays if you lay your head near the box, ( no matter what song )

    It could possibly be a loose dustcap too. I believe those JL subs use a full cone dustcap on them, so it should be easy to tell if that's loose. Sounded just like that when my friend's dustcap came unglued. If so, take care of it right away. We didn't get it taken care of immediately with his sub and the dust cap flew right off taking a good chunk of the cone with it.

    Pull the sub out and free air it, but be careful with the volume. See if it still makes that noise. Should rule out whether it's the box or not then.

    This will rule out the sub or the box itself. If the noise goes away free air, then the enclosure is most likely coming apart. I'm not sure how the shop built the box, but if they do what most do... then it's glued and stapled (air nailed) together. I don't care what anyone says... use screws.

  5. ray and nate are right... basically it's shaking the face so much that its losing the connection. an extension cable wont fix it... if you have a usb connection on the back you can try that... I know on some of the JVC units it will play on the one in the back but not the one on the face. again, mainly b/c it's shakin the hell outa the face. lol...

    my sony gtx930... makes the whole face cutoff and back on (still plays) b/c the face itself loses connection. lmao...

    but I was doing 154's on music too

  6. my first amplifier I ever owned was a Radion eighty watt amplifier. I had it on a Pyramid 10" phase 3 subwoofer.

    no pictures exist of either. (i'm old school like Meade where your eyes where your camera and your brain was the hard drive)

    I owned some Pyramid amps, Urban Audio, AlpHine (yes with an H), MTX, and Sherwood (the 240!!)

    but...

    My first REAL amplifier was a PPI Art Series amplifier. I had two of them, the a600 for the sub and the a404 for my highs. I loved those amps. got my first trophy with them. :)

  7. Well you would be happy to know that I've only blown two sundown woofers. Both were at my hands. Lmao. One in the metro and one that I did some testing with and I really gave it hell...ripped the cone from the former. :) I think a thick bead of epoxy like u rebuilt for the metro testing would help that if that has been any type of issue with other competitors. But as far as a daily setup... The sa woofers are top performers. Be proud of a well built woofer

  8. we have one in Katie's s10 right now... running two Sundown sa8" and doing a 146.5dB at 38hz.

    they are strong amplifiers but but our goal is a Sundown 2500 on her 8's.

    EDIT: I see in your signature that you are running a Sundown saz1500d.... Keep the Sundown. The 1500d from Sundown is a stronger amplifier than the dBdrive. If you are serious about the dBdrive, we'll trade you. :) lol

  9. Ric, please tell something about the sound of the DD´s and SA´s.

    Sound? as in how my ears feel? how my body feels after this? lol

    well no meter involved... the DD subs were nasty. hit extremely hard and would knock the wind right out of you. everyone that heard it loved it.

    the sundowns (just two 15" sa) sounded fantastic. I loved the way they sounded. They got nasty loud, very tight and clean. I'd say a bit tighter and cleaner even than the DD's... but the DD's had more impact overall... now... with the four sa12...

    hands down. NASTY

    freq is a bit lower.

    check.

    hair tricks.

    check.

    back massage.

    check.

    punchy.

    check.

    drills you in your head.

    check.

    I have found my favorite budget minded sub. period. the sa series subs 8", 12", and 15" subs (never tested a 10" but i'm sure its equally as impressive) are in my opinion the absolute best all around daily sub for it's price, performance ratio.
