Hey guys, I just got a small 2.1 system for my dorm room and wanna know if i can build a custom enclosure to get some lower tones out of the sub, or if I'll need to get a new (full range) sub. What kinda enclosure would yield a better low end? The woofer is a 5". Thanks

Theyre stock right now, seems like the "shock" isnt strong enuf. U think i could just replace those instead?
-
Ya i realized that when i looked at a few pics. I do remember there being a company that made kits that allow the doors to go 130 degrees
-
Hey guys, the doors on my acura tl piss my off as they always seem to want to close on me. Where could i go for a lambo door kit to put an end to my evil ride? Thanks

Why not find a used kicker 1000.1? Those comps can handle the extra hundred watts each,, if the amp is tuned right.
I presume u mean the zx1000.1? And what exactly do you mean by the amp being tuned right? Sorry for all the noobness, you guys are really really helpful!

Well, bein on a budget id like to stay on the less expensive side. I understand running a 750.1 and splitting it would only give me 375 watts per amp and thus not max power. How big of a difference is having that extra 125 watts? Will i be ok consistently running over the rms?

Alright thanks ill start lookin around... Should i look for 400rms to wire in series or 800rms to wire in parallel?
-
Just read that monoblocks are better sub amps and multi-channelsshud be used for mids and highs, is this true? Also, would running a split mono (both subs run in parallel) be more powerful/cost effective than just a regular 2ch?

Lookin for a 2 channel 2x400 watt amp and came up with a good lookin 2x420 rms 2ch amp (oxygen audio oa1800.2) I plan on running a pair of kicker 10" CompVRs in either a sealed box or ported box tuned to 38mhz. Would this amp overpower these subs, or could it work as long as i didnt crank the volume up to 100%? im also still open to suggestions for any other good 2x400 with a reasonable price tag. Thanks!

Its not a hair trick to me, and i have a buzz anyways...so just saw i have room for 2 12s and if i cut a bit out of the back i can get a nice box in there, maybe even ported in the top
-
Huh, well then square are out then. Ill do some more measuring and designing and get some final numbers
-
Not sure about seats down in a tl, but if i can then i cud fit a pair of 12s
-
I can has youtube links? (workin from an itouch here) but in all seriousness, 3 12's could work? Square vs round?
-
I dnt think i have room for an 18 or a 15... Mayba 3 12's in the rear just behind the seats, but itd be a tigh fit. What do ppl think about square woofers?
-
Hmmm, maybe 2 12's and a 10 could fit under the rear windshield, thatd maybe work with enough rms, trunk rly wudnt help with a hair trick but for overall bumpage i could run 2 12's and 2 10's back there too

Well, im the noob of all noobs when it comes to
car audio (ok, maybe not, but im pretty new to all of this). My quest is to pull hair tricks in and '07 acura tl, probably with 2 10s or 12s in the trunk and the same in the rear deck. What kind power would i need to produce a hair trick, and what else may i be needing for such a build? I habe fiberglassing and all other building skills nessicary, just need the knowledge now. Thanks in advance!
Can I get deeper?

okay, thanks. just how low do you think i can get cleanly with this woofer/setup?
