orionstang- Subs awesome best buy ive had. Got a complaint the other day i was shaking the 8th floor of an apartment building Oo! I need to upgrade a couple things but im back in school and dont have extra money right now flex issues will be dealt with. That song is 25hz I cook off decaf mix. Jordan guess its a 2007 Ford Ranger extended cab. You could fit 2 18's but a wall would be nesissary. Im pretty sure my dimensions are as follows. 45 inches long. 26 inches tall by 16 inches wide with a 6 and a half inch port tuned to 30hz

My amp gets hot but honestly All my premier equipment has taken a beating for over 5 years. Im the second owner of it and I honestly couldnt of asked for better starter equipment. Well I know for a fact that my 12"s were heating up big time before i had voltage problems swapped an alt and battery and turned the gains up more and they never got warm once for 2 years

To be honest it sounds great, I do have 8 mids n highs in the truck though so its always sounded good. By turning the volume boost down I noticed better sq. Like i said im deffinately just in need of a proper alt. The one I have is supposively a 240amp rebuilt alt which I know for a fact its nothing near that. I just dont have 500 dollars to buy an alternator right now so down the road i guess

@B dog thanks alot man didnt know about those shows. I live in Maple Ridge. Turned the volume boost off It Deffinately got louder with that extra battery. The reason the cones heating up has to be due to low voltage guess an Alternator is in need! TeamHT gain is at 3 quarters I had everything cranked when I had my 12"s and literally listened to them for 2 years straight as loud as they could be and never once did I have a problem with the amp or anything else woofers never stunk up once! I understand what your saying. Thanks guys for the help always appreciated!

its a volume boost but i never thought of it like that ill just turn that off. But do you think the cone would be getting hot from clipping or from having shitty voltage? I know with my old subs before i had an alt and batt my cones would heat up pretty hot then once i did some voltage upgrades i was able to crank everything up and the cones didnt heat up once in 2 years of abuse

I cant remember the modle number on my deck but this is the exact deck except mine is premier which they not discontinue but they are the same. http://www.google.ca/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1550&bih=850&tbm=isch&tbnid=6gKL6dnXfk7HcM:&imgrefurl=http://forums.nicoclub.com/frankiman-s-street-track-gtr-grip-alot-project-t489726.html&docid=WlwUlRSp_tqluM&imgurl=http://ak.cdiscount.com/pdt/0/U/B/1/f/PION_DEHP5100UB.jpg&w=904&h=301&ei=0UX-T_PPKo61qAHpvpCPCQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=848&vpy=380&dur=710&hovh=129&hovw=389&tx=214&ty=63&sig=117508382152920408514&page=1&tbnh=61&tbnw=183&start=0&ndsp=28&ved=1t:429,r:11,s:0,i:147 As it goes for bass settings every bass boost is off and my sub level is -1. As it goes for gains i have the gain at 3 quarters and the volume boost at half. even with this second battery i notice my voltage is still pretty shitty kind of a piss off thought buying another battery would solve my problem.

Alright so since ive bought this sub ive noticed the cone itself gets pretty warm. At first i figured it was due to clipping so i turned down all my gains and made sure there were no bass boosts on. Still was heating up. So i figured it had to be the voltage because i had had the same problem before and once i got my voltage better the woofer stopped heating up. Well I now have 2 yellow tops and the cone gets just as hot. Its a dual 1 coil wired to 2 ohms off my prs-d5000spl amp. Anyone have any idea what could possibly be going wrong?
