  1. Ya ground is fine and i meant to say my subs METER wrong.. not time wrong or whatever thats what JC aud said. but ima check my batt tomorrow.. didnt even think of that. thanks guys ima check that tomorrow and will let yall know what happens!
  2. So i got 2 12s planet audio runnin on 3k watt planet audio amp. had this system for half a year and its been tuned and wired at right ohm so everything is correct. i left the country for a month and i come back and this is what my subs do.. its tuned to where i can turn my bass knob all the way up and amp is tuned to 34vol. but now i turn my subs and bass 1/4 way up and volume on 26 then my subs start to short.. like they hit then they stop. then again and again. its 100 degrees where i live so i thought my amp could be too hot and its going into protect mode.. without having my amp on it felt pretty warm cause of our weather.. i thought that could be why. also the other day i turned my bass up and volume up wanted to see if they'd start working but my amp started to go onto protect mode which is when my amp's protect mode lamp starts to flicker so i turned it off and then lowered the volume and it all works fine..no more protect mode.. but now on 0 bass and they still hit but not all that much at all. what could cause that? i checked by JC Adudio they said my subs are the problem and they are out-timing or not working properly.. but how? i havent used them in a month and magically they start to do that? weird shit.. Thanks in advance!!
  3. I hope thats it cause everything else sounds right.. i prolly fucked up my gains.. How would yall set the "INPUT LEVEL", "SUBSONIC FILTER", "2-8V - 10mV-2V" , "PHASE SHIFT 0 - 180" http://img291.imageshack.us/f/ampnm.jpg/
  4. Ya man! i got a quick question.. since i got a ported box theres no way to connect both subs together inside the box.. well i dont wanna drill a whole across my ports to connect my subs so what i did was get - and + from on sub and connect it to the other sub from outside the box, so in this pic you see a - and + coming from my right sub and they connect to my left sub. then i got another wire and combined 2 wires for - to go into my amp and same for +.. hope i didnt confuse you but yea i mean its - to - from both sub then + to + from other sub so that sounds correct. and of course inside the box i got sub1 - and + together and same for other sub. so thats 4ohm. just didnt know if the way i did it was right.. take a look. i mean for the way i got both subs to connect together. http://img29.imageshack.us/f/0306011745.jpg/ http://img845.imageshack.us/f/0306011802.jpg/
  5. my gains are not all that high, id say half way on filter and boost then somewhat high on my low pass. but i hope thats what happened maybe wire fell or something ill take it out tonight and ill let you know if thats what happened. but no actually everything is really stable man nothing moves and my amp is mounted nothing moves.. but i dont like my ground im gonna get another source for that. How do u wire at 4 ohms? just to make sure. thanks! @fmedina: ya ima check my ground and get another source cause im not too satisfied with my current ground but thanks bro hope ill figure something
  6. Alright so ill post links to what i got and maybe that will give you a better picture of what im runnin I got 2 12s planet audio here they are : http://www.planetaudiousa.com/main/606 and new amp : http://cgi.ebay.com/PLANET-AUDIO-AP3000D-3000w-MONO-CAR-AMPLIFIER-WIRE-KIT-/300516277033?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item45f82a7b29 So i wired my subs like this: http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg Sub 1.. - and + together Sub 2.. - and + together Sub 1 - connected to Sub 2 - Sub 1 + connected to sub 2 + then - and + from both subs goin into my amp.. thats 4 ohm.. at least thats what i know as far ok so i know both my subs got 1200 watts rms together at 4 ohms and my amp got 1000 watts at 4 ohms. should i wire em at 2 ohm since my amp got 1600 watts at 2 ohm. i dont know im so confused at this point. So i wired everything at 4 ohm like i showed above. and everything worked fine man.. i was bumpin for 3 hours ridin around and next thing you know.. i notice that my subs keep skippin beats.. like the song hits and my subs stopp workin for half a second then they start hitting again.. so i thought maybe lose wire? not sure.. but then another hour later my subs kept doin that.. i wasnt even pushin my subs that high and smoke started to come.. i realized it was coming from my amp cause i pulled over and saw all the smoke comin from under my seat so i figured it wasnt from my subs. so i just took the power out and next day, i put my 12v back in and my subs worked fine no problem. then they started to smell so i didnt want my shit to smoke again so i turned my amp off. later that day i put my 12v back in and my amp would be at a stand by- power? like my amp turns on and then kept turning off.. or like it was restarting? turns on then off.. on then off. and my subs moved like a human lung? thats weird to describe it but thats what it looked like. looked like my subs were breathing and not hitting.. i think cause my amp wouldnt stay on and it kept flashing P.S - today i looked inside my port and saw one of the screws was inside my port.. like it fell from one of the coils from my sub.. maybe that could also be why? like one the sub wires got loose or somethin cause i saw one of the screws in my port today and i knew what it was but i had everyhin pretty tight but i dont know.. maybe its one of the screws that didnt have wires in it but yea i found it in the box thought maybe this could be why too if it was one of the wires that fell but now i really dont know what to do.. i know my sub aint blown so what could be the prolem? please help.. thanks in advance!! greatly appreciated
  7. thanks homie really appreciate that! apparently the remote was connected constant with the yellow wires so now it works just with the remote and works fine. same thing for the ground.. removed it off the antena cable and its good! thanks man!
  8. Alright thanks bro appreciate that! ima go right now and try what you said.. thanks!
  9. Ya that blue one with the rubber cap is labeled remote for the head unit
  10. not sure if they're labeled but there were the same amount of wires from the harness to my headunit but he put the black wire from my headunit(clipped it on the antena cable and that seemed to be a power source so he kept it there) now the black cable from the harness is just hangin there.
  11. haha R Mac.. ya dude here you guys can see what he did.. overall: the blue wire goin into my amp is connected with the 2 yellow ones: 4 wires from the harness arent wired: (THIS blue one is supposed to be for the remote) my remote wire and a purple one: (i think the purple wire disconnected here?) he connected my headunit power cable to the metal on where the radio cable is supposed to be.
  12. Ya thanks bro. I didnt have a remote so i dont know what he hooked up. ill have to look into the wiring cause i thought that was why. thanks though guys.
  13. Thanks man.. but im also asking if that was the problem? like was that why my amp stayed on the whole time? cause i didnt have a fuse holder
  14. Aight well I had to be at work so I let my friend work on my system for me.. apparently my power wire connecting my amp to the battery was a direct contact.. he didnt use a Fuse Holder which makes my amp stay on 24/7.. next day i try to start my truck it wouldnt start.. even though i got a new battery.. 3k watts on for 9 hours kinda killed it for that day. whats the purpose of a fuse holder? im pretty sure since i dont have one installed on my positive terminal thats why my amp stayed on? not sure but i wonder whats the problem.. and whats a really good fuse holder kind so ima go buy one today for it. thanks in advance!
  15. Ya bro.. i think it looks good with these subs http://www.listingfactoryhosting.com/users...ages/bb12d2.jpg thanks though.. appreciate the feedback
