  1. I have my old visonik subs and amp hooked up and its of course got the in-line fuse near the battery, I have a second amp that I want to hook up to my MTX 6x9's (if they fit in the car) or one amp per sub.

Question 1: I bought a fused distribution block for dual amp hookup, do I need/should I keep the original in-line fuse as well?

Question 2: Both amps I have are very weak (different amps entirely too...I know, fail >.<), the first is a Lightning Audio LA1.150.2 and is a 150 watt amp. The second is a Denon DCA-500 and I believe it also has a wattage rating of 150 (anyone confirm?). Currently I only have the denon powering both subs. I dont have another amp to HU wire (I do have another power cable though) and the Lightning Audio amp has an Input and an Output so could I use a shorter audio cable and run the HU wire to the Lightning Audio input and a shorter audio cable from the output to the Denon?

Question 3: I have some standard 16 gauge wire, can I run that from remote of the Lightning Audio amp to the Denon and the Denon will turn on and off just fine with no worries?

  2. I asked on Yahoo Answers but nobody responded so Im hoping one of you can help.

Me and a friend are on msn, I try sending him a picture by dragging it to the chat screen, the "Sharing Photos" screen appears but not the photo. I try on his comp and it works just fine. He can send to me that way and I see and receive the file. If the Sharing Photos screen is open and I click on Add and then select the file, it still doesnt show up.

So I decide to uninstall and reinstall. I cant find the Uninstall from the start menu, in the programs folder I dont see an Uninstall button either, and in the add/remove programs folder I keep clicking to remove Windows Essentials and nothing happens. The only other files that say Windows Live are Windows Live Sign-In Assistant and Windows Live Upload Tool. I went to this website http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938275 cause its supposed to tell you step by step what to do but my computer seems to be missing step 4. If I Download and try reinstalling before I remove the previous it simply says its already installed and ignore that part of the install.

The only way I have found that allows me to transfer a file is going to File and then "Send a File or Photo.." but it never opens up where all my files are (external hard drive), it only opens in My Documents. Since it allows only one file at a time to be selected it becomes a big hassle having to go through the entire thing multiple times.

    Please help me!

  3. Spend the time going inside and outside checking where there won't be anything in the way when you do decide to drill through, don't be afraid to go to the passenger side if need be and another thing to consider is using the right size for the grommet and not the wire.

Everything is already on the passenger side. I didnt even think about getting grommets cause on past vehicles I sliced open ones that were already there and slide it through so Im calling walmart right now to see if they carry any but chances are Ill need to wait till tomorrow and try menards or radioshack or something. If I cant find any anywhere could I use electrical tape for now (just to cover the sharp edges) until I get some ordered off the net somewhere?

  4. Worst place to drill at is near wires on the harness, dont believe me try it and find out what happens when you hit some. Many hours reattaching them, been there and done that when a friend did that prior to a trip to the north for a weekend.

Oh I believe you, Id much rather hear the warnings and heed them than fuck it up and be furious cause I cant fix the problem.

I just dont seem to have many options is all, for instance the farther down I go from the wires the more the area folds outwards making it a much thicker area to drill through. I cant go above or to one of the sides cause I have no room and that seems to be the thinnest area is within an inch or two of the wires.

What do you think would be a safe distance from those wires?

  5. Ok Im sure a lot of you will facepalm with this question but its been a long time since Ive hooked one of these up, on the Audio cables that run from the HU to the amp, whats this third wire again?

    IMG0175A.jpg

well just make sure there is NOTHING in the way.

if you used the drivers side u can pass the power cable thru the hole that is used to get the "hood unlache" wire thru to the outside/inside.

on the driver side look for the hole used to run the AC lines, thats what I used....

    hope this helps GL!

I just fear I wont have nearly enuf cable otherwise I would definitely do it. I just barely had enuf cable when I hooked it into my bonneville and the caddy is longer

  6. drivers side. clutch knock out panel.

i want to try and keep everything on one side of the car otherwise Im a bit worried I wont have enuf wire. The battery and the area easily acessible to the trunk behind the seat is on the passanger side

yes this or look for drain plugs

Drain plugs? Sorry, dont know a whole lot of what to look for

or drill right above those wires, since it is easily accessable and there isnt anything there.

You sure there is nothing above? I havent really looked yet, can anyone confirm?

No offense at all man, I just want to be damn sure before I go drilling into things

  7. So Im going to drill through the firewall in my caddy to wire up my OLD Visonik subs just because I cant stand having no bass at all (temporary until I get a new job and can afford the DC Audio subs), would this be a good area to drill through? I was going to drill underneath the wires (bout 1 inch lower) but for all I know there could be 2 layers of metal and something important in between them and I obviously dont want to drill into anything other than metal.

This is on the far passenger side

  8. i wouldnt reinstall windows. so you've tried using an old Mini Din mouse and keyboard? (i have seen them go bad) and no luck? then you tried a usb mouse and keyboard? have you tried all the usb slots? do other devices such as flash drives work in the usb ports? what are the specs of the board? not trying to be difficult i just wana know what all the issues are and the things you have done so i can narrow down some things.

yup, used mini din and no luck, used usb mouse and keyboard and no luck, I did try the other 3 slots and exact same thing (recognized something was there but didnt work). I did not try using my flash drive yet and I dont know the specs of the motherboard, how do I get that? More importantly, can I get the specs without using a mouse or keyboard?

  9. The usb mouse takes a minute to download the drivers and install them on their own. give it about a minute before you try to move the cursor. If that don't work, then unplug it and plug it into the SAME usb plug.

I know on my Logitech g15 it does this. Especially whenever I switch it to another usb port. It always installs over again when I switch it around. Same with my mouse. :\

well hers IS Logitech, Ill try that when I go over there today, thanks for the idea.

if the board was toast it wouldn't boot up, or it would bluescreen left and right. i suggest download the drivers for the keyboard and mouse from the manufactures website and install then reboot. sometimes windows drivers are garbage.

I cant download the drivers from the website cause the mouse doesnt work

x2 dont those sort of things usually come with a drivers cd?

It did come with a cd but it said the cd is only needed if you want to use the mouse and keyboard functions, not to actually use the mouse and keyboard....but I tried it anyway last nite. I put in the cd and of course, I need the mouse to select anything

Usually windows will use any and all keyboards and mice, if you cant get any of them to work your copy of windows might need a fresh install.

I got a couple copies of XP laying around here so Ill try that tonight then but I do got one thing Im curious about, it already has a "fresh" install. The comp may not have been used in year but literally right before it went on vacation I reinstalled for her, should I still make the attempt?

  10. So I finally hooked up my moms computer after maybe 2 years of sitting around. Everything started up fine but when I plugged in the receiver for her wireless keyboard and mouse the it never lit up. I thought it was done for so I went and bought her a new one (this one is usb) and plugged it in, the comp recognized that something was plugged in and got the drivers and said it was ready to use, I tried to synch the receiver with the mouse but I kept moving the mouse and the cursor never moved. I tried the other 3 usb ports and it never worked.

    Any ideas?
