What size wire will you be running from the second battery to the amp? The fuse size depends on how big the wire is, if you are using more 1/0 just go ahead and put a 300/250A fuse in and call it a day.
yup 1/0 gauge. thanx a lot bro i appreciate your help.
-
Are you talking about connecting the front battery to the back battery? If so yes, do it like so
"Front Battery ------ Fuse ------------------------------------- Fuse ------- Rear Battery"
With 1/0 cable, I would just go ahead and use a 300A fuse, but a 250A fuse will work perfectly fine. And yes that wire will work fine.
oh and to wire up the amp to the battery do i use another fuse holder and amp fuse the same size?

thanx much for your help!

i would
alright thanx a lot! one other quick question to wire the battery is it ok to go with this type of cable?
http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KLMX0BL
and two fuse fuse holders one on each side coming from the batt 12" away and the other side 12" as well with a 250amp fuse on each will it be fine.
-
relatively the same
will it be fine to just go with the kinetik? since it's a bit cheaper and use extra money on wiring.

which one of these batteries is better for a 2400 watt system? i have an alt 125 amp, stock battery up front and will be using the other as secondary. my budget is under 200 final price. is there anything out there better than these two batts for that price?

im not looking for exact numbers i was just wondering like i said 30's or 40's idk that was just a question. i said it was going in a pontiac 08 box to the expects 0 gauge yellow top the planet audio amp later i was going to upgrade the amp. sorry for the thread waste of your guys time. THANKS A Lot Guys!

its imposible to tell you how many db's your gonna be gettin. box design, vehicle, how you wire it, and a million other things that will affect db's. only way is to try and fail then try and fail again and try and fail till eventually you get max db's or change your setup for a biger one.
two 12" re audio sx, one planet audio 2400 watt rms for now later i will upgrade the amp. i will use 0 gauge wire, yellow top battery in the trunk i will wire it of that battery. so i leave the stock alt which is between 140-160 amp and stock battery. but i wont worry about that because i will wire it off the battery in the trunk. the box will be to the recommended specs. i hope this helps a little more.

im not looking for an exact number. just a guess like in the 30's or maybe 40's. it's going in a pontiac 2008 g6. my goal is to hit the 40's.

well maybe the reasons why you need those extra batts is cause you told them that you had a stock alternator since you dont want to switch out.Remember it takes power to make power.Id get the audioque if you can provide the volatage im sure it'll make more then rated.
and we dont know in what car this is going in?we dont know the amps of your alternators car it could be a honda civic or something and those things make like a 60-70 amp alt.
this would be going in a pontiac g6 2008. i was just thinking of adding batteries i don't really wana mess with the alternator but i guess i will have too. i wanted to keep the stock battery and do the big three and i dont know how many batteries i would need in the trunk or what kind i don't know much about that. can i actually do that.?
-
efficient or not you still better off upgrading your charging system...the md3d make its power at 14.4v i believe
yeah i know i have to with a amp of 2000 watts and two subs 2000 watts. the big three, battery, and alternator. i wanted to stay away from the alternator but i guess there's no way around it, gotta do it.

eh dont really trust local dealers with info about stuff like that. Like today I went to see how much 8 or 10 gauge wire would be to buy and they are like for power wire? and I said no for speaker wire and they thought I was crazy/stupid. and that was from like 4 places before I found a good price.
haha i know that's how it is with most of the local car audio dealers they don't know what their talking about they will just try to sell you what ever.but yeah the guy that tolled me is the local dealer for re audio i got the number and called him.
-
well a lot of people run under 1 ohm and I was just curious if that amp would take it
i had the same question i asked a local dealer that sells re audio.
-
where did you come up with this??
i called aq tech support and asked they said i would atleast need two batteries and change the alternator and all kinds of stuff and a local car audio dealer tolled me the same thing. so i'll rather go with a more efficient amp. no aq for me personally.
-
not to thread jack but will the xt4000 run at .5 ohms?
No! Only 1 ohm

If you want 2k, I'd get the US Amps MD3D. I have two and they're great amps. I love them.
ok should i just go with one US amp MD3D 2000 watt rms $369. or save a little more money to get two 1500 watt rms xt4000 v3 $598 one for each sub i'll be given them 1500 watt a piece or go with the md3d which they will be getting 1000 watts a piece. what do you think.???

are you talking about this amp?? if so is this the latest volume or version? like the xt how they have vol 1,2,3

$400 budget for amp ONLY, right? You could also look into getting an AQ2200D, they are $389 shipped brand new.
disregarding the price whats a better amp AQ or US amp.??

don't like aq amps i would need like three batteries for that amp. the US amp is 299 on audio savings.
what battery?
