  1. Alright, i know the basics of box designing. My main question would be, would the amount of port area per cu ft, change how the box sounds with rock? I normally try to stay around 16 inches per cu ft of port area for regular slot ports and tune my boxes between 33 and 35 hz. The vehicle its going in is a Jeep srt8 2007. The sub is an Ascendant Audio Mayhem 12 d2. The amp will be an Audioque 2200d. I will be using Aeroports. Ive got pleanty of space to work with so dont worry about max dimensions. i am not going to build an a cu ft box for a 12 lol. If anyone has advice on tuning and port area and cu ft lmk.

but every once in a while, id like to be able to play some mainstream rap.

  2. I am selling a JL audio 13tw5 subwoofer because i am looking to upgrade to an xl 12 or 15.

This sub is rated at 600 watts rms

The mounting depth is only 2.5 inches shallow.

this sub is in 10/10 mechanical and 7/10 cosmetic.

it has some shallow scratches on the front of it. and very light wear and tear on the magnet.

this sub is the best thin line sub that i know of and it only requires .8 cubic foot for a 13 inch subwoofer!

looking to get 275 shipped in the USA!

these are the specs off jls website:

looking to possibly trade for a beefy 12 or 15 inch sub that will handle 2200 rms at 1 ohm.

  3. A good friend of mine bought a 2006 dodge RAM 1500 single cab truck and he already has a dc audio xl 15 subwoofer. So we wanted to figure out a way to put the xl in the cab without seriously modifying the truck. So I started drawing up some plans with the seats all the way back...but that left me with 59.5w by 24 tall by 1.5d1 and 7d2, so that didn't give me any airspace at all lol. We also wanted to keep the center console seat, so if I slide the driver and passenger Seats up to the same position as the fixed middle seat is, that gave me max dimensions of 59.5w by 24h by 8.25d1 and 13.25d2. That also allowed room cor a very comfortable seating position for all 3 seats with plenty of leg room even for taller people. So we started the box build.

So, this is the box test fit in the truck. You can see a column in the box where I built around the center seat belt so we could continue to be able to use it.

This is to check Clarence with the center seat flipped up. More pics are uploading now! Thanks for looking!
