the sub is a crystal mobile sounds comp x2 15 and the amp is a older rf amp pushing 1000rms till i get a new amp the box its in now is 19inch by 19inch by 15inch witch is a piss o shit thats why i want to build a new one if u got some advice id be glade to hear it
Well there's your problem. The box is far to small. If it is truly tuned to 35hz, it will only have 1 cube. it should have 2.5 or more. If you make the new box 3 cubes you will notice a huge difference, even with the same tuning.
-
ok i think 35 is the way im gonna go then it sound good now and the guy said the box was 35 that i have now but its a p.o.s box so hopfully a good box at 35 will make it sound better
What sub and amp do you have? How big is the box? A new box should make a huge difference.
-
Agreed dont go with a adjustable port. I would go with 35hz like stated above. Should still be pretty nasty.
Now this guy knows his stuff! Cookie for you
OP in fact it will be louder with the 35hz one, but will not play as low as the 32hz one. I'm sure you would not notice a difference.
-
ok thanks ill just probably build it to 35hz then or just make it a ajustable port
Nah, don't bother with a adjustable port. Just pick the 35hz one. It will be fine
-
If you want even lees strain, use a solid state relay, electromechanical draw probably the same amount as a fan!
-
It's either the pre-fab box.
Or it's a combination that the first note in put on is quite low for a second and might not go well with that box.
-
No problem, with my gain at max it doesn't clip (o-scoped). The HU puts out so little voltage because it's 20 years old! lol.
Gain is the ratio of increase, so you will be fine.

might have pinched the wire when it tore the coating off.
Give it a good inspection, if its broken just cut it then get some heatshrink for 0 guage and a butt-connector. Shouldnt be more than $10 I would think. Would be a good idea to crimp the connector, can get all the parts from a local large electrical store and they might even lend you the crimper.
^x2 the wire was probably damaged.
The best fix would be new wire though, but if you don't have enough monies, use this method^

Now you need a button for a burp at your peak! perfect for db drags! lol
-
I think there is no proper question, it looks like spam.

as long as you kept thick metal objects 10 feet away you'd be fine (need thickness or your magnetism is weak).
I'm sure it would get good pull to the frame of the car though lol
surface area is useful too, but yeah that would be fine probably, unless you have a CRT monitor in the room, it would probably muck one of them up from 20ft away.
1" thick aluminium plate on the baffle so it doesn't pull itself through the wood and fly through some panels

Tell us how it goes
-
the weird thing is i didn't move any wires lol i just re hooked up. so i'll check in the am. but i'm conflustered.
Car audio does weird stuff, it could be the wires even though you didn't touch them.
-
no its happening at really low volume. its never happened before that's why i'm confused.
hmm, just check all your wiring then. Not much else it could be.

Are you sure they are actually producing a click? If your speakers can't keep up with your subs they can sometimes sound wavery, just from the pressure on your ears.
-
im not sure 2 4'' areos is going to be enough port area. audcually i know its not going to be
Very true.
O/P, did you use a calculator? If so, what one? Torres's one is really good cause it has many options and tells you the port area range.
-
It's definitely true, it's to do with the rounded edges, I can't remember why though.
-
Its been tried.
I have never seen barometric pressure change in a car. Even at 160+ dB.
The rapid change from pressure to vacuum doesnt read in barometric pressure.
Yus! I was right! Do I get a cookie?
-
Won't the fact that it varies between positive and negative pressure make it impossible to get a reading? It will either fluctuate really fast, or it will stay neutral because of the average will be neutral.
-
lol somebody is probably gonna say try it and u tell us if there is a diffrence lol
Try it and tell us if there is a difference.
Nah jk, What kind of difference do you mean? like more bass, cleaner bass, cleaner highs, etc etc?
But I would say the bass will be louder for sure.
-
steve said he would try 2 do something about it if i remb. right
Cool, cause it's been going for ages and was kinda annoying.
-
Oh, well, what section is this under?
Hopefully it will be fixed soon then
-
When was this asked before? If it's like a few days ago then fair enough, but if it's like a month then it still hasn't been fixed.
-
Some of you may have noticed that when you type out eighty using numbers, you get 80 . Maybe the smiley could be changed so that you put colons around it, like the one, then it won't happen?
thanks.

If the both have the same port area, it will be the same. unless the round one is a aero port.
Maybe just go with a slot port and make sure you have about 14 square inches of port per cube.
