hah there you go again with your "nice box"
i would be grateful if you could help me design it (or someone else who knows more then i do)!!
yeah when i get older i want to own my own shop
Yep I can help you design it, 1 15" alpine type R? I think I can do that . PM me how much room you have in your trunk and I'll get onto it ASAP
-
would you recommended ported or enclosed?
yeah i have been reading this site for a while just never get an account because i dont know much at all, after all im only 16
but everyone is so willing to help scrubs like me..
everyone on here would recommend ported, as long as is a "nice box " , I can help you design it and so can many others on here .
Don't be so hard on yourself, everyone needs to start somewhere, I'm sure you will learn a lot on this website, I know I did, and I'm still learning, there is so much to know and thet knowledge just keeps growing

MDF?
and what do you mean tuning
thanks bro for everything tho!
medium density fiberboard. The wood that is pretty much compressed sawdust, very good for making subwoofer boxes, used by most people on here.
It you build a ported box, you will have to use a calculator (there is one on this site, made by torres, a download link is on his page) to work out what frequency the box will be tuned to, I would suggest around 35hz, the port should also be between 12-14 square inches per cubic foot of the box, all this is in the help section of torres's calculator. maybe make the box 3 cubic feet.
If you need more help with enclosures, then have a search around or ask some people on here, we're all glad to help

define "nice box"
a friend and i built his with just normal wood and caulked the cracks and put that foam shit in there (can't think of the name)
is there a special way i should make it then?
correct amount of cubic feet, good sized port, nice tuning frequency. Made out of MDF, no leaks (caulked well, like your other box) mostly tuning and size though, thats what people mean by "nice box"

idk if the box is to specs
i was just going to buy the box with my subs and amp and all that
so im assuming it is?
and a buddy was saying something about i would need to put another battery in if i put two 15's in?
don't buy pre fab boxes, they are terrible, build a nice box
You don't have to buy batteries, you can upgrade alternators etc, but you don't need to, it's better if you do though.
-
im pretty sure for both of them it was a 2000 watt alpine amp
no problem in giving them more, it will allow for box rise etc.
-
If you do it right, good box+good power, it will sound louder because you have more cone area.
-
you can either bend the tape it, bend it, or spend money on new RCAs.
What do you mean they don't fit in, will they not go all the way in? If not, then try you might need to get new RCAs. since it goes in the other sockets though it must be a problem with the deck. The reason it doesn't work on the other one is because it is a input for the H/U and you need to use the output (which it doesn't fit into)
EDIT: swap the RCAs around so the end in the amp is in the H/U and see if the other end will fit in the amp or not.

a wall with 2 15"s? but otherwise, the 12"s sealed off from the trunk, port through rear deck.

the hideous 6x9 thing is an epidemic...I'm by no means an audio master, but come on..how does that shit sound good??
Don't you know? It means that it's loud!
Has the O/P fixed the problem?
-
how does that work? Like is it when it's at a certain voltage and power level that it starts to distort?
If you turn any amplifier up too much, it clips, which can damage speakers, and it sounds hideous. You know the guys who drive around with their 6 by 9s at max and it sounds like chgzggzgzg chgzgzzgz chgzgzgz, like that!
-
i found that your radio is 20 watts RMS. I doubt that would make a Kicker set distort. Check your eq
Unless he's tuning it up to max .
-
my car got broken into and they took my radio . so i put in a jvc kd-hdr20 headunit and now my front speakers distort whenever the volume is turned up
i have a kicker component set in front that will distort when volume is turned up but when i put the fader to the rear speakers those play fine and clear
i double checked all the wiring and connections to the front speakers now i dnt kno wat to do
jus wondering what else i should check and look at b4 i go and buy another set of speakers
It could be the head units amp distorting. What does it have to be turned up to for it to distort? If not, your fronts can't handle it. upgrade time!

Wonderbread. You think us kids really mind the naked girls?
But thats my mommy . lol j/k
O/P nice sub

He's done a tunnel already, I expect it'll be something new and really cool.
Oh right, the one with 32 10"s, there's not much left for him to do, he has done pretty much every configuration!
-
In every death, there is rebirth... Squeeze 4 in this time?
True, Tunnel with 8?
-
you deserve to burn in hell! The poor box . You never keep one build for too long
-
wow.... you gotta make it people with cancer? why not just gays or something?
Jews, gypsies, homosexuals and mentally/physically disabled people? dude, we don't want another holocaust. just find someone annoying that you hate, and hire a hitman...
-
lol, good ol' twisted and his crazy images
-
lol j/k bro, just informing you of the search function before someone gets shitty with you
-
try the big 3, if that doesn't work, a second battery. Alternatively if the battery up front is a P.O.S then upgrading that could help.
-
I've seen lots of those movies
He's very very clever, hows the bass in the song? lol
-
If this had a "like" button... I'd like it.
Same goes for your mom j/k j/k
Damn you O/P, you made me go oh damn not another one, people are so evil
