  1. Ya you dont need to solder the remote just use a crimp on terminal (if needed) and just torch your wire than touch the tip of the solder to your wire and bam your done.... it will eat up plenty of the solder so make sure you have enough. And dont forget to run under some cold water cuz its gonna be hot! lol

this post makes absolutely no sense...are you referring to soldering the terminals onto the power and ground wire

  2. Torch

    Clicky ^^^

hes gonna need both an iron(for soldering the remote wire) and a torch(if hes wanting to solder the terminals onto the power and ground wires)....personally i see no problem with a t-tap on the remote wire(if its installed correctly) being as it is such a low current application...and unless the amp kit is 0/1 gauge any set of klein style crimpers should do the trick for the terminals...i use soft copper terminals because they crimp WORLDS easier

  3. i want to fiberglass a 10 tv in my dash of a 2001 hoe. i went to a local shop they want 500+ to do my dash and put a double din in the center console. thats with me already having the tv and double din so i want to do it myself i have never fiberglassed or seen it done. i know no one was born fiberglassing so if anyone could give me some help on this

thats fukkin cheap for that much labor...i wouldnt go near that fab job for 500 bucks.....and there really is no fiberglass work involved there...bunch of ABS fab and finish work...tons of time getting everything test fitted and buttoned down...honestly not really the job for a novice on a vehicle of that caliber

  4. I have a Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD in dash head unit with SWL/SWR, FL/FR rca preouts. I currently have a monoblock amp using the SWL/SWR to power my 1 12 inch sub. I also have a 4 channel amp that is all set up except for the rcas. Currently I want to run the 4 channel amp as a 2 channel amp powering 2 aftermarket speakers in the front. How do I go about connecting the rcas from the head unit to the 4 channel amp. Do I use the FL/FR and run them to channels 1 and 2 rca inputs?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

(Picture of the RCA preouts on my head unit)

just run the front two channels of the amp to the speakers....as so you only need to run the front rcas from the deck to the channel 1/2 input of the amp

  5. QUOTE (bustedassblazer @ Feb 24 2010, 12:43 AM) we've all been there...cant count how many computer power supplies i laid to rest back in my younger years tinkering in the garage

You do realize that home subs are normally self powered so you are only limited by the out put of the LFE channel so if you have second powered sub go for it! But room cancelation can be a bitch. so have fun with it!

read through the whole post....its a HOME THEATER IN A BOX type deal...normally the sub just has speaker wire the come of the receiver...some of the newer sony and onkyo stuff we carry at work the sub is powered..but even still the signal wire is still high level

  6. Was basically lookin for a list of "needed" things before i got my hands dirty. I'm now gathering items

so i can get started... but thanks all the same.

Only thing i can't seem to find is a set of RCA wires that are 1male/ 2 male. Can you strip an rca wire and use 1 side?

after 8 years of install i cant think of a time ive used a 1 male - 2 male adapter...what two pieces of equipment is this cable going to connect

  7. i agree. The Flashlogic is awesome. The manuals are written better. The modules have diagnostic led which makes life a lot easier.

diagnotic led is sweet..MUCH better manual..for us authorized dealers..have you tried calling dei lately..well we all know whats thats like.....and i recommended the ads-al-ca due to ease of install..the door locks and triggers being controlled through data wire..soo much easier
