  1. And I am very worried about voltage drop as a plan to run my saz at .5 ohm cause my woofers are dual 4's and I have been told to do this I need a strong electrical system so if I were to just run batts which I won't now anyway I would wire it to 2 ohm until I get a new alt.

Can you find/take a pic of the engine bay, and one where the alt is mounted. You can more then likely fabricate a alt bracket for a HO alt if they don't make a specific alt for your vehicle.

Please, PLEASE, don't run your system off of batteries only. Yes you can have your stock alt charge your bank for a while, but sooner or later it will work itself to death. And it will do it at the worst time! Plus you always want to keep your stock alt as a back up in case your HO alt takes a dump.

But as of right now get us those pics and i'm sure most of us can guide you in the right direction as to build a HO mounting bracket. It's not very difficult. I built mounting brackets for both of the alts in my crx

  2. This is why it is nearly imposible to ask anything on this forum...The Constant bashing over a simple question...If your so against the post why post on it? Im sorry but if u got 4 18's or a walled setup your in no way not tryna be heard outside....yes there are times and places for this but lets be real... We all crank it up at times and reality of this is people do hear you and might think your the douchbag/asshole that your all calling this guy....the OP's question about wanting to be heard outside is something we all wanted at some point when we put walls and masses of subs...if you got 5000 watts and say your not tryna be heard your full of it....it doesnt take a wall or that much power to just get personal bass..i agree schools & residential areas is a bit rediculous to be turning it up....i personally run 2 12's 1000watts for my daily and got my 15's for when i wanna get loud (shows, meets, ect) but to have 20 members on here calling this guy a asshole and a douchbag is the childish aspect of the post...systems are for personal enjoyment and if he enjoys gettting distance and being heard then thats how he enjoys his system...not how i enjoy my setup but just a thought for those of you calling him a douchbag for ENJOYING HIS SETUP and asking how something works....whats makes some of these replys crazy is iv seen many members post videos and there in their driveway's and front yards on youtube talking about we gotta do this quick the neighbors getting Mad....does that make them douchbags too? i personally think everyone knows when your being ignorant....

I personally have no issues with his first question. But him trying to be heard down the street is something else.

(As far as people hearing me from down the street)because that's what I want.Someone please explain or tell me if my theory is right!

That is when it is no longer for "HIS" enjoyment(unless his enjoyment is pissing people off, waking up babies, causing every dog in the neighborhood to bark) because that is what you are going to accomplish. These are the people that ruined it for true car audio enthusiast. That is why he received such a harsh response.

Most of us do have large daily drivers, but our goals were not to be heard by everyone else in a 3 block radius. We either wanted to reach higher numbers on the meter or for my example, reproduce lower freq with minimal amount of power. I wish my system could be up full tilt and never leaked a bass note to the outside world. Then I wouldn't have to constantly be rubbernecking looking out for cops that are trying to bust me on laws that were created because of people that wanted to be "heard down the street."

He asked for our opinions and he got it. We are allowed to comment, It doesn't matter if we like the post or not. I personally am trying to educate the op, or anyone else that reads this on proper system etiquette.

  3. If you want to be heard down the street why dont you just get loud then  .

Everyone on here is acting like they only beat at shows and not going down the road so they dont piss people off.

Any time you turn up your system it can be heard. So everyone on this forum is pissing people off even if they mean to or not

IMO there are acceptable places to turn it up i.e, freeways (in no traffic), industrial areas, and rural areas. Those are all fair game to me only because most of the people in those areas are used to low freq sounds battering them by 18 wheelers and trains. Plus in those areas there are usually higher speed limits, and less stop signs/lights. Allowing me to keep my rpms up and my alts spinning.

It's just immature to do crank it up within city limits, neighborhoods, schools & hospital zones. No one wants to hear that shit there. And you just seem like that chick that's doing cart wheels at the beach saying "look at me, look at me!" (last sentence not directed at you rob, just people that bump in those areas)

I'm sorry but this guy has him beat. Well minus the fact that he doesn't have a yo yo in his act.

  5. Speaking to scottie.. the 3100 is the biggest they make and if the market demands a bigger one they will certainly provide it but at this time i believe the 3100 is gonna remain the biggest they make...

For customzing a battery in a cs9000 (i know they make custom batts on request) that would be one hell-avah batt man... what is that like a 3100 and a 1200 combined... capable of supporting around 9K watts... damn if you do do it take pics bro !!

I remember them saying the same thing about demand.

Oh I wish I could afford to have them make a custom batt. But I was just curios to see if they have every toyed with the notion of a single "super batt" such as the cs9000.

  6. thats what i was thinking.

that is a voltage GAUGE and it is adjustable.

it has a little knob under the case which can either raise or lower the sensitivity

Exactly what I was thinking. I was just wondering if he calibrated it with a more accurate meter such as a fluke. Or a good cheap way to test it is to but a brand new 9v battery and hook it up to the meter and see if it reads it correctly.

I know out of the box some meters read +/- .5v

  7. Stumbled on some new good music on myspace. The guy has a great sound, real laid back, with some deep lyrics. Take a listen to this track and if you like it check out his myspace page and check out his other stuff.
