I've got the polk db 5x7s in the front and rear and a pair of polk db 12's. For the price they seem to be as good as anything else in the price range.

Sorry to also post here but I've found someone local selling an RE SE basket/magnet with the FI BL soft parts was hoping for some advice on if this seems like a worthwhile combo? Seller is asking $150 for it. Also would this be an upgrade from my 2 polk db 12s in a prefab box assuming a proper box is built for the RE/FI hybrid? Thanks for any words of wisdom or advice!

bump
bass boost will just bump the voltage and most likely cause the subs to clip thus doing damage/frying them
lots of good guides here on setting gains. all it takes is making a test tone cd, a pre done spreadsheet and dmm.

Now I'm gonna have to dig out my old NES this weekend. Got it new back when I was 8-10. I still have the gun and the kids get a kick out of duck hunt

Mad props for the unique build. I hope you like how it sounds so all that effort pays off in the end. I agree the plexi window would be hilarious or perhaps put a photo of a normal open glove box on the so its like an old school wylie coyote cartoon

i did it in my blazer its really ghetto its ok to use and it dosent have any smell really so ur good there
I tried some of it in my trunk. for the price it seems ok. I got a roll for 17-18 bucks

ive given him many suggestions.. he has a very crappy setup right now and wants it asap.
I'd 2nd the waiting. my entry level setup I got cheap except I'm already wanting to see how big of an amp I can go on my stock electrical and get some better subs that can handle more.
If your patient you can find some deals. I know they are entry level but I got my prefab polk box with 2 Polk DB 12s for $149 new from Frys electronics sale and my Punch 600.1BD I got used off craigslist for $80.
If he's wanting something cheap for now I'd look for someone who is upgrading and trying to unload a decent amp/sub combo

More than 2 weeks ago i made some Rockford Fosgate accesorie purchases off of Caraudioxperts.com, i have yet to receive my products. I called them twice to see when my order was going to be shipped and they advised me it was going to be within a week, that was more than 2 weeks ago.I was told my order is being held up because a product i had in the order was not available.I then proceeded to call them a second time a different day and did not get an answer, I then sent them an E-mail friday april the 9th stating where was my damn package at, i have yet to receive an E-mail back. So what should the procedure be if i dont get my merchandise at all, can i report it at some website for consumers or can i file a lawsuit? just to let you guys know everything has been paid for
Call the credit card company and dispute the charges?

what state? nothing ive ever heard of. In TX if your vehicle is over 25 yrs old its a safety only inspection but no cap on repair bills

For those of you who didn't see it, my friend's got a 1995 Police Interceptor. Pics HERE: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/74124-lmao-best-friends-car/
He's now getting around to picking stuff for a system. There's plenty of room in the trunk. Definitely enough to fit 2 15's, although that's nowhere near his budget. He doesn't want to wind up putting a grand or so into it. I'm trying to come up with ideas for what he could get. He's looking around $500, maybe more. He wants to keep it around one paycheck (we're both in college, not tons of money here). Hoping not to do electrical upgrades besides the Big 3 in 1/0. Other than the price of the box build and the 1/0 for the Big 3, what kind of system do you guys think we could get going for around $500? Sub(s) and amp would be #1 priority. He's not looking for the loudest system ever, just a little beat in his car. Any ideas?
Thanks again guys
Check the for sale section here or the local craigslist
I picked up my prefab polk db1222 box for $149 on sale at a local fry's electronics. They aren't bad for now but I'll likely upgrade at some point.
My amp I got used off craigslist for eighty. I already had all the wiring so it was easy to test the amp worked.
I even picked up all four of my 5x7s off craigslist for $90.
I know my current setup isnt anywhere in the league of the typical SMD member but for a starter set up on a budget its loud enough to annoy the neighbors and the wife fusses she can hear it in the house from the driveway

the cost of a gig switch compared to a 100 base is asshole puckering. I'm curious what you are using it for. or why?
Agreed. A managed gig switch is very pricey. What's wrong with a little 5 port linksys gig switch?
I have one of those I use for my wired connections back to my server.

I was interested on possibly trying to get my own website but I'm not exactly sure how to do it. I was wondering if anybody has knowledge on how to design websites and get them on the internetz. I know very basic html. I'm not looking to do anything over the top, Just like an interactive blog/extremely small forum type deal. Any and all hints/tips/advice are greatly appreciated.
And for anybody who wants to say "google it", I am, but it's also nice to have a live person to talk to that might be able to explain things better.
I hate to say it but do some research on the software, buy a book, snag some templates and just play. That is the best way to learn html. I'm not a heavy web dev but have taught myself html over the years and today was working on how to drop cookies on hosts. You will learn and retain more if you do it on your own or at least put some effort into it then ask specific questions when ya get stumped.

This looks to be the ultimate man cave. I can't wait to see some hair tricks with those banners hanging from the ceiling
So many possibilities. Will be a fun journey to watch and see what a guy like you can make of the place!
I hope you don't shake the place down the first night you get the hoe in there!!

Wow the color came out great and looks to match the photoshop really well. The color effect reminds me of the old mystique cobra mustangs.

AVG all the way man. Norton slows down your computer also...noticed that a lot from fixing peoples computers. But yeah go AVG for sure!
I'll agree with Avira or AVG. Microsofts new security essentials is also not bad for free.
Having worked at McAfee I can't recommend their products too much

Good to see your doing good things to keep the site up and running strong. Dedicated servers aint cheap.
Any chance of sharing the specs for the techie folks of the new server?
