Does anyone know exactly what steve does...cuz whatever hes doing...i need to do....he has a shit load of expensive equipment
he works on chickens caddys, does custom boxes for members and other car audio related stuff on his off time. idk what his actual job is.
-
some people dont like it. i love the stuff. even if you layer it twice maybe 3 times it still costs less then 90% of the "professional" sound damping material. IMO its very worth it.

i can do floor and roof carpeting. the rest of my car is all removed to be fiberglassed. but does anyone on here kno how to re-upholster seats... or am i gonna have to take some seats from my moms shop and learn by trial and error ?

did you already get a sub ?
-
if you plan on running it the height of your box and u said your box can only be 17" tall then technically your port would be 2.5" x 15.5"...but like i said, that is just assuming you make it the height of the box...
ya. i figured that was assumed.
-
what exactly do u mean by 5 inches of port total??
the port will be 5 inches wide. it'll have a divider down the middle so there would be a 2.5 by 17 inch port for each sub.
-
like we said 3-5 cu/ft per sub
ya but that leaves me with 4 cubic feet to play around with and an infinite amount of port to possibly use.
im thinking about going with 8.5ft^3 after displacement and 5 inches of port total. the box can only be 17 inches tall to fit where im puting it.
the box will be fully removable and changeable so i can build as many boxes as i want to see how they sound. but im trying not to spend so much money to find the perfect ft^3 for my box.

figured out where to get volttmeters.
anyone have a good idea on some cubic feet for two 15's ?
-
they recommend anywhere from 3-5cubes/sub...so anywhere within that range would be a good start
and here is your voltmeter...

thanks.

well if you look at steves box its 20 cubes so at 10 or 11 you should be fine
i didnt find any voltmeters on either site.
steve is running 18's and he has alot more power going to them then i will.
-
I would look at sonicelctronix.com or woofersetc.com for the volt meter i would say to use all the space you have for your box
ya. but i dont wanna have too much air for the subs and be hitting cone.

two 15" loaded BTL's running off two t20001bd's. what kinda cubes should i be looking at for the box ?i can fit up to a n 11 cubic foot box in my car so it cant be more then that. also what size port would be best ?
also. where can i buy a voltage meter that i can install in my dash ?

i sent him another one about 5 minutes ago. i'll see what happens with that one.

does anyone kno where i can find a high ouput alternator for an 86 bmw 325e ? im looking to run dual 200 amp alts.
the only thing i could find was on ebay, and it was only an 80 amp alt. and that wont be nearly enough.
-
he didnt use quikrete. he used to sand they sell at home depot i believe.
ya. it wasnt quikcrete. it was just like playground sand. he poured it in right before he mounted the subs. he poured a good amount in too.

Lowes peal & Seal is how i roll. its less then a 10th of the price and it gets the job done. buying dynamat at all is just a waste.
-
i saw that episode a couple days ago. i was wondering the exact same thing.
-
i just say f.i.

if you read around the smd forum you can find pretty much everything and anything you would need to kno. everything from the BIG 3 to box designing. its all here.

btls can handle alot more then their rated power.
