  1. first thing. i didnt go over to my moms today cuz i was up in jersey all day. so no pics tonight.

I hear ya on them bein overpriced. I ordered some stock prelude seats to install in my accord because I love the way they look. I got a quote for ONE SEAT and the first place wanted 475 to do it in vinyl and the second wanted 650 to do it in vinyl. I was like "for ONE SEAT?!" they told me yes. Lucky though man. My ma's gonna try and mimic the pattern for me when I get the material, but shes no professional.

even an ameteur could do it. its honestly not hard as long as you know how to use the sewing machine.

i honestly do not see how it can cost so much money, unless like stated above and you use expensive materal, vinyl is cheap, under 10 per yd , now the equipment needed to do the job is not cheap to do, sewing machines big enough to sew larger materal patterns cost alot , threads needls, pliers, tape measures, knifes, steam machines, air compressors, spray guns, nailers staplers ect. alot of tools needed to be in that profession, but for the most part doing seat covers is not that hard to do, you need a cloth tape measure to get an accurate measurement and a sewing machine with a throat deep enough to bunch the materal in while you sew ... a seat cover of a solid color vinyl has aprox 15 dollars in materal (assumeing you are reuseing the pading) and about 2 hrs time for someone takeing their time doing it along with doing seperated head rests.. at 35 per hour thats still only 85 in materal and add in shop over head and 100 per set is a fair price for simple vinyl covers custom made to the seat and not bulk orderd.

doing multi colors takes a little more time but not much, doing real leather and thicker harder materal does require more time and larger tools but not that much more, so them chargeing 400-600 is price gougeing, go buy your own sewing machine $100 at walmart 150 for one with embrodery on it where you can do words and simple images via a pc program, and 50 in materal because you will mess up while you learn and a cloth tape and for under 225 you will have the tools needed to make 2 seat covers and the tools needed to make some covers for your friends and make money back on the tools you paid to make your own and after a few covers the machine and little tools are paid for....

hell hearing the price of the covers, im going to talk to my boss whom use to do house hold chairs and couches before he got into rental units , im going to ask him to help me get the shit i need to do simple seat covers lol and make me some side money since there isnt a business in speaker boxes.... i can spare 2-300 in tools to make more than that fast

x2 on the DIY and you make more money then you put into it by far.

  2. not to bash bro but, it is an art like any other trait. true to a lot of us think its just sewing but, the added value and just meer joy you get from new upholstrey its a big deal and if its done right. Its just like Car Audio Installaions. You got lucky man I'll tell you that much.

it is essentially just sewing tho. my mom never did an interior on any car and she was able to do my passenger seat in a little over a day. those guys do it for a living so they can do both seats easily in one day with no problem. i give it to them that they can sew and all that. i know i cant. but their prices are so overpriced its not even funny. i could see if i was using genuine leather or like gucci fabric to do the seats, but to do 2 seats takes 4 yards of $9.99 a yard vinyl. and they were telling me prices over 550.

  3. hell yeah! that's a hell of a deal. upholstery is pretty pricey from what i've seen

ya. those guys are on serious drugs. one shop told me it would be 650 and another told me it would be 575 .. and i only have a 2 seater car, so all they had to do was the two front seats. its not like the vinyl costs more then 20 bucks for each seat so they are charging all that for the 2 hour sewing job. no thanks. free is for me.

  4. there is nothing better then that. my mom used to work in a fabric store so she sews like a god. i told her i was gonna glue some carpet on my seats and call it done. but she said thats disrespectful to my bimmer. she owns a car shop now. so she has my passenger seat right now and she is making my seats all black vinyl instead of my ripped tan leather. she only got the bottom and the headrest done while i was there. but it was all lookin mad good. FREE FTW !

  5. I was seriously asking did the add say it came with it, I bought a amp there once that said it came with one and did arrive with one. But if they said it did then showed up without hell i would be shitty. The description usually says if it does. Usually if it's refurbished then shouldn't be packed with a cert.

i didnt look. i figured if it was coming from "rockford technicians" that fixed it. then y wouldnt they test it and give it a birth sheet if the original was lost.

but ill just check it with the mm

  6. It's all good bro buy where ya want. Guess u think I am hating? Just comes across like that on the net, Buy it from where u want just telling u why it don't have it. I am with u I want it (though it is useless). They could do it wouldn't cost much. By the way MSRP on that amp is 1499.00.

You post how shitty that was I thought u shold know at least why u did not get one. Just giving the answer. Don't shoot the mail man for delivering news u asked for.

my mad. it just seemed like you were bieng a dick about it.

and accordman mind your own business.

  7. Ya, were u promised it in the auction? You bought it refurbished, the birth certs come with NEW amps.

Just cause your cheap and don't buy new it's not HDA's fault. It says in theit auctions they are usually not included.

You paid 575.00 bucks for a t2001, go buy it at 1100 and u will get one.

It would be nice I agree, hell I imagine most would drop another 20 bucks for the certs. It's a perk of buying it new.

no need to be a dick about it. i knew it didnt come with a birthsheet and anyone paying $1100 for a t20001 is retarded. i want to know what my amp is actually doing as opposed to just knowing its over 2000 watts and not knowing whether its 800 or 5 over that. its not a big deal. but i wouldnt like to know. HDA states "This is factory refurbished by Rockford Fosgate technicians." well if they went through all the stuff to fix it why not give it another birth sheet again ? its not like i bought my amp off joe blow down the street who sells out of his trunk with no warranty or gaurentee.
