my budget is somewhere around 300 dollars, im driving a 99 monte carlo and i already have a new pioneer radio that i got about a year ago, my dad is a mechanic and hes hooked up many subs before so thats no problem, also my cousin is making me the box

ive decided im going to get 1 15" and the only other thing i need to an amp with a sufficient amount of watts for it

Yea that is an old myth that I'm guessing some poor kid made u years ago to make his buddies think his 10's were better than his buddy's 18's. I digress. Listen around to the people onhere and we can help you pick out a nice system. Any idea what subs you're going with yet?

well then what is the differnce between the two, everyone that ive talked to has said the 10s are punchier? thats not true?

im getting my first subs soon and im pretty sure i want 2 10" subs because they are more punchier and vibrate less than 12s

also need an amp, and my cousin said he could make my box but how much sound quality would i be losing from making my own?

how do i go about this, i dont know too much about this stuff?
