You would see a big difference. Although the hu says 18-23 it's more like probably 10-15. Most hu and amPs do not put out what they say. Unless they are 100% efficient. Its more like 75-80% of stated power. So for what you are looking for getting a 100x2 gives you more useable power and room for upgrading later.I know that most head units put out about 18-23 watts rms to door speakers. Currently my speakers are just ran off the head unit. Would I notice a huge difference with a 40 watt 2 channel amplifier? (40w on each channel not 20w) Or should I just save up and get something like a 80.2 amplifier. I have not really dealt with watts driving speakers before, just subwoofer.

Whats real funny is when lames think the higher the temp the brighter the light. That's why you have losers driving around with purple headlights. With so much info on the net, how can people still be so ignorant.

Maybe plan on two 8" per door, and 6.5's for rear fill. If course your tweets.

The link on the bottom is the one that works. The

This is how my first build came out
Well here is the latest update. Took a few days off, now 'm back at it. I wrapped the box and made some trim panels in a nice two tone scheme.

You can use Velcro, or make it pressure fit around the equipment for a snug fit.One more...When attaching the back to the front of the amp rack, how do you attach it to the side of the trunk? Or if the back is attached already to the side of the trunk, how do you attach the front? I relize you can attach the front unupolstered, but I would like to upolster it before it is attached and what would you do in the xase of having a fiberglass front sence it would be one peice?
Thanks

take it real slow with the jig saw. I you still have issues, cut a bit smaller on purpose then sand the rest to get it straight. Or just get some clamps and clamp some scrap wood to make a straight line jig for your saw.some teaser pics
the port idea
the port .. my skills with a jig saw suck so i may redo it
the car all this is going in this is an old pic
if anyone has any advise on how i can get a better cut on the inner port area would be greatly appreciated

Oh yeah. I would suggest a good crossover with band pass capability, to cut the higher frequency from the 8's.Cool so with the sq3000 it should be super loud to.....

Build a rock solid box. Tuned in.
Get a bigger amp.I'm going to be getting rid of my 2 12" Kicker comps and replacing them with a Fi Q 15" I'm going to be putting them into a custom box. It's going to be running off a DX1000.1 @ 2 ohms (1,036 RMS) Any suggestions or ideas/tips before I go forth with this let me know. Thanks!
That's out of the question.

I did 4 8" vfl's in the rear deck of my boys accord. They got super loud and clear. You could hear it two blocks away. It was on a AB sq945 4ch.Does anybody have any experience with the american bass sq8b? I plan on putting four of them in each front door with four of the sq6.5-cb and running the sq3000 amp, one amp to each front door. I also have two of the sq5-cb in each of my a-pillars and going to use the sq-05t tweeter in the door's. The tweeter's and the 5's will be on the sq900 amp.

Box looks great. Did you use primer? I noticed that with wood if you don't use a good primer you still see the texture of the wood. Tuned in.internal bracing with a 1 1/2" dowel rod. Cuts werent perfect either, but i went heavy on the glue and used #12 2" screws to secure them
Baffle cut out and mounted
subs in and looking sexy
So its been roughly 4 months since then. ripped the box out the other day to give the baffle a face lift
popped out the level 4 12's
after applying some wood filler
some good sanding, more wood filler along with more sanding. touched up the port and gave the baffle 4 coats of a nice gloss black
added a decal i had laying around
flash really shows the gloss

This is just one sick ass build. Plain and simple. Alot of equipment an it still looks stock. Just great craftsmanship.

If your port is big enough and you round your port walls in and out you can cut out the port noise.I was thinkin about aero ports to minimalize the "port sound" i might be wrong but thats what ive read before

Instead of terminal cups you can use bolts and nuts for terminals. But good job on your first box. 1.4 isn't to bad I put a 10" audiopipe txx-bd in a 1.5 box @ 30hz and it sounded like two 12's.

Just did some research on the T5's and DAMN!!! At retail Steve your mids are more than I paid for my car lol. But seriously, this build goes in top 2 on this forum next to the crazy BMW. Any plans on bringing the 'hoe' or the 'F' to the east coast?

I'm doing a build for my neighbor so for now my build is on hold. He recently bought a 67 bug in pretty good condition. After he got all the rust taken care of and had new floor boards put in I went to work. I lost the pics of the rear down but it is covered from roof to floor with FatMat deadener doubled up on the rear fire wall.
Equipment:
Sony deck (soon to be replaced)
Massive Audio VX 6.5 components (up front)
Massive Audio VX 6x9 in the rear (soon to be replaced by another VX 6.5 comp set.
MB Quart 125.4 (mids)
MB Quart 1500.1 (subs) ordered
2- 10" RE Audio SE dual 2 subs in a 1.75 sealed box.

You have to see it in person. The interior is brand new. It has a 1300cc motor and it's lowered like an inch. I'll take more pics of the car tomorrow.WOW ... Thats a clean Car !!!
-
Just need to screw in the baffles then resin to seal it up. The box will be wrapped like the interior, gray tweed and gray leather. The rear 6.5's will be in exterior color matched pods on either side of the box.
