  1. Ok so today I got a little bit done.. To start off, I got this fence finished :drink40:

Very annoying to do when the boards used aren't cut straight to begin with. Anyways:

SO I BOUGHT ME SUM MDF

    f4.png

    3/4" 49x97 for $20, not to shabby.

Then I cut it up to the perfect specs for: 1. My Trunk, 2. My Subs, 3. My Tuning

NOW, I want you all to notice the saw I was using in the previous picture.. Cutting this board up.. was quite a challenge.. But I got it all right down to the 16ths. Didn't really give me any problems considering the wobbly blade and lose screws in the saw's stand.

    :yahoo:

My plans for tomorrow consist of cutting the holes, gluing it, nailing it, caulken' it, then hopefully fiber glassing.

  2. Ok, so just to be sure, the depth, is BOTH of the walls added together correct? And with the Port Height, ok that makes sense.

    EDIT:

    How's this..

    2lazh8j.png

Each sub calls for 1.5sqft.. I've got 2 subs. So 3sqrt in all is what I need. I want my tuning around 33-34. So, hows that? Those are almost perfect demensions for this little spot in my trunk it would slide up in.

EDIT2: my cut sheets for the port aren't showing up?

EDIT3: ah, I guess the calc. doesn't show if the port bends.

  3. Yep this is my first build log, I'm going to try to make this interesting

Now to get started, I've got a 93 Honda Accord..(Maserati) It's got nothing on it besides what I've added, it's a junker mobile.

    6.jpg

    I've added:

    1. 55w DDM HID Lights 12000k

    2. New Black Blinker Housings

    3. Blacked Out Tails (VHT)

    4. 20% Tint on all windows (Except front)

Now thats all for looks,.. This amazing engine it has, can get up to 60 in 18 seconds with no audio in it at all. <_< , but let's move on to this build.

RIGHT NOW. This car has 2 15" Kicker CVR's that are getting pumped with 400watts each powered by 2 Image Dynamic 600.1's.. For some reasons, the coils couldn't match up and all that.

Anyways, it's time to possibly upgrade this system. I'm not even sure if this new system will be louder, but if it is, :santa:

Hmm, I guess I should start out with getting some subs.

    DAT WAS FAST

Now at this point, I have you all going, "????" To answer that

    DC Audio Level 3's

Now, It's time to build the box.

    BUILD PICTURES ON THE WAY..

  4. I'm also thinking that.. so my new designs would be:

    14x32x16.5 port: 10x2x12

Giving me 3.31 cubes, tuned to 33.55.

Also, is having the port in the middle of the two subs a good idea? With the port facing towards me.. (It's going in my trunk with the back seats down.) Not sure which way to face subs with a ported box.. This will basically be 'walled' because my dimensions are squeezing this right in the opening where the seats fold down.

EDIT: Yea.. NET VOLUME, I'm glad this is going to be my first box that I can screw completely up on.. But I've got to learn this some way or another.. Got left over mdf, and two 12's on the way.

    SO: 15x32x16.5 port: 11x2x12

Gives me a net of 3.29 cubes, tuned to 33.69.

    HOW does that sound?

  5. I'm just like being stupid right now.. I can't think which way this goes:

My subs call for 1.5 cubes per sub. (So I need 3 cubes for this box). Each sub has a .15 displacement.

-I've got my box drawn up at 14x27x16 (HxWxD)

-and my port at 8x2x12 (HxWxD)

This gives my box a gross volume of 2.67, tuned to 33.91.

Did I do that right? I can't think if I need my box to be at 3.30, or 2.70.. (Because of the .30 sub displacement..)

    :ehh:
