  1. BTW, do you know which 2 vehicles beat me in Drive By?

Nope lol. One was a crx lulz.

I thought so, I think it was the one with 12 10's or 10 10's what ever it was... I think the other was the van with the back full of 12's... I think he was the guy that got 134...

8 12s. What was in the black van?

The black van was in your class I think, wasn't it? I know you beat him... or was it the green van.. shit I don't remember... LOL! I went up against one and I think you went up against the other...

  2. Then you would need even better screws lol. Oh and when I did my drive by I knocked a over half full MT dew off the judge table lol.

Did your buddy get that on film?!?!?! Sucks I missed it... (but had to get in line myself) what was the db score, 129,? wasn't it?

No he didn't, I think it was 129.6. It started at 130.2

We need to expirement with my tl to see what song is best for drive by... I myself also need to see what configuration of my doors open/closed is loudest outside...

  3. LMAO at the scare video... dam... I wish I would of went to eat with you guys...

They all came over to check it out after and I set off 3 car alarms then when we left I set them off again lol.

I got a feeeling you are going to have some interesting demo videos coming! To be honest... I did not expect THAT much of a difference in the sound from your old XL 15's... but... WOW!!! That box is beast!!!! I know some where someone said that they think your port was too big for 2 18's and a box that large... but that person (don't remember who said that) needs to hear it! LOL! Another thing to keep in mind, when those subs loosen up, they will be louder and LOWER!!!

  4. ?? I've been online lol! I changed them in 10 minutes! And where the hell have you been? I did that at 1pm LOL!

Been enjoying the new theater room... bout to hit the hay, gotta head to freezefest in the morning...

    Winn...

if you don't mind me asking... why were you asking about mixing sub sizes, what do you have in mind??

Nothing..... I just pulled it out of my ass and was just wondering.. im not going to mix subs... :peepwall:

Ain't a damn thing wrong with educating yourself!!!

  5. As far as looking bad... if it is done tastefully, it will look real good. I have people tell me franky looks ghetto... I have seen thousands of installs with the same subs that look way more ghetto than it does... I am a strong believer in finishing cabinets and running wires neatly...

I don't think this looks too dam bad????

no way in hell that looks bad, thats a great setup.

The only thing that bothers me about that is the light grey carpet.. I ran out of dk grey... (I had to make adapter to swap from XXX 18's to FI then to the TFS subs... (did not feel like redoing the entire setup..)

OP... on this truck, the 2 18's are in their own chambers on their own amps and the 15's share a chamber and are both on the same amp...

oh yea ive seen some videos, i personally like it just because it has character and its different but still pounds like no other.

I gotta say it is an interesting ride... You don't know how many times I have been confused with the Geek Squad! LOL!

im talking about mixing fi with plye or kenwood with jl. it just looks like shit. IMO

Mixing an FI sub with a Pyle sub is like mixing a King with a Challenged peasant....

    Thats a disgrace LOL <_<

LMAO!!! King and a CHALLENGED peasant!!!!!! not only a peasant.. a challenged one on top of it! I can tell your no fan of pyle! LOL!

Oh.. yeah... that looks like screwed over hell! LMAO! Ain't nothing like seing 4 subs, same size, all different brands and different colors!

  9. Oh..... you knew dam well I was gonna chime in on this one! LOL! Here's what I gather about the rumor that started about mixing subs... If you put different size or different brand subs in the same cabinet without partitioning them off, the stiffer ones or smaller ones will move differently and the power to the subs will not be evenly distributed... will be more going to the smaller ones I believe...

People have mixed sub sizes since I can remember. (I have been into car audio since the late eighties and never had any problems mixing subs) usually when you mix sub sizes you put them into different chambers. You also can tune them to different frequencies like I did in frankenstein. you are basically doing the same thing when you mix diferent size mid range speakers. One thing you cannot do because it will cause cancelation is put different subs in different cabinets on the same amp. What I did was tune the 18's to around 26hz and the 15's to around 36 hz to get a wide range of play.
